Crashy Ride and Vibration in new S560
Hello everyone,
Traded my 2018 E63 for the 2018 S560 SWB about a month ago, in part to get a much smoother/more comfortable ride, and a roomier front seat.Have had the car about a month, and find the ride/handling on smooth pavement to be exceptional, but on any sharp cracks, bumps or depressions in the pavement, get way more harshness into the car than I would have expected from an S Class Merc. Today I was on a washboard road, and it felt like the wheels were going to fall off.My car has the 20 inch wheels, Pirelli tires, and the air suspension. Also noted that there seems to be a slight vibration on the steering wheel at highway speeds. Had the wheels rebalanced, but no improvement.Anyone else note either problem with theirs?
Thank you!

If your car isn’t new I would check to see if rims are bent, all s it takes is one pot hole to do it so miles are not issue, I have 20 inch AMag rims and both front had been slightly bent, had fix for 200 dollars and really made a difference. , when I brought my car to dealer they showed me on video when on lift with wheels rotating how bent they were, but I find that these S63 with AMG suspension rides rough on unperfect roads , but can whip thru a turn in handling, guess that’s the trade off.

I just swapped my Goodyear F1's to the P Zeros and while both tires exhibit the behavior you said the Pirelli seem to be a bit worse. If you want to get rid of that harshness you'll really need to go non run flat.

I have 560 s class new in November. I had a similar issue from new. Took it to the dealer and they diagnosed a cracked rim. They changed it and the car drives like an S - Class now
