You need a airbag and a decoder in order to put in a W222 2014:

Does the adapter convert cruise control from the column stalk to the button on the wheel?

Did your car come with carbon fiber trim or is that aftermarket. Would love to swap out my woodgrain for something with this look.

Holy Smokes, 4500 dollars US for the carbon fiber trim, is that what you paid?

Do you mind providing the part number for the airbag and a link to the ebay seller for it? I'm in the process if swapping my steering wheel out now and don't want to get a counterfeit / rebuilt one. Thanks!

I have a black airbag with gray stitching and the Mercedes part number is 000-860-98-00-7J20. The link to the honest seller who sold me a non-deployed airbag is here. I won't share the info of the guy who sold the rebuilt airbag that I immediately returned for a refund, but be sure to ask for pictures of the actual bag that you'll receive and inspect them thoroughly. The mounting tabs of the two halves of the airbag are single use, so if they look mangled as if someone obviously tampered with it, don't use it. Also, there are packaging and warning labels covering some of the tabs. If the labels are gone or damaged, don't use it. Also, the wire harness and it's plastic loom should be present and unaltered. Finally, don't be afraid to ask if it's rebuilt. Apparently some body shops are comfortable installing rebuilt airbags, but I made it clear I wasn't.

Thanks for the info...your link to the honest seller is a seller that I was looking at as well. They have a black with gray stitching for sale now and I'm considering just getting that one. My interior color is crystal gray/seashell gray so I think I may have a hard time finding an airbag in that color.

So is your new wheel from an S Coupe? Do you have the part numbers for the wheel and airbag? I am wanting to do the same thing. I have the poplar wood trim but those numbers would lead me in the right direction. Thanks!

That wheel looks good. Anyone have an updated link for the ebay parts needed, the other link doesn't work.

Were you asking about my part numbers? If so, they're copied below. Please note that's for a black leather steering wheel with walnut, heat, and lane keep assist. The airbag is black with gray stitching. The W222 was offered in many steering wheel and airbag combinations, so I started my search on https://www.mbonlineparts.com/ and looking up "steering wheel" to identity the part numbers and then searching Ebay for those numbers. There are some instances in which part numbers have been updated or superseded, but that at least got me close. Of course, double check with the seller that the item is as described and has the options that you need.

I couldn't find any reply with info on what eBay seller you purchased your "Coupe" style sport wheel and airbag. Can you please provide this information? Thanks!

I’ve been running this setup for 3 years in my w212 2014 E63s. No issue on w222 either. Revotechmotorsports on IG chip it and of course swap the airbag. Night and day, touchpads work.

Thanks for replying, twice! I missed it the first time. I need to do some research. If I needed the walnut I would surely buy yours but I need poplar.

Cheers!

Are you still trying to sell the steering wheel? Will it work on 2015 S550 W222 with heat and vibration?
