Interior trim issues

We own a 2019 S560 4Matic and there is a film/residue that looks almost pitted across the wood grain trim of the vehicle. Above the rear view mirror console and under the steering wheel there are white specks. We took it to our local dealer and they wont replace/repair it; they said its from a cleaning solvent. I only use a soft cloth (occasional damp with warm water if needed) to wipe down the interior. The only thing I have sprayed in the interior is the little MB air freshener cologne that they give you.

I wondering if anyone else has had any kind of similar issue with their interior and how it was resolved.

TIA

Gee, it’s a nearly new car and I assume you are the original owner and you have taken it back to your selling dealer? Is this something you can photograph and post here? I’m interested to hear about your problem, but what I would do next, assuming that you are in the U.S., is to call MBUSA and open a case with them. Good luck

High time to bring this to another dealer or start complaining about the service to the general manager of the dealership you got this car from. This is not an acceptable response blaming the customer for something that appears to be a pretty wild assumption on anyones part.

Sorry for delayed response. here are a few pictures of the issue. I have been in contact with someone at MB customer care regarding the issue but have not heard back from them since taking it to our local dealer. Did contact the dealer we purchased from and they are going to take a look and see what they can do next month

Agree 100%, you spent how much on that beast? And you are the one at fault? Unacceptable, period.

That sure looks like a chemical that was sprayed on the trim. The fact that it has affected numerous panels of different materials tells me it is not a factory defect. Did you purchase the car new?

It looks like someone cleaning the car accidentally sprayed something there. The dealer has a full time detailer and should have just had then tried to clean for you to keep a customer happy. The other side of this they dont want to be on the hook for the bill as that is obviously not a mfg defect. Its impossible as how would you have not noticed that? It isn't just on the wood its on the adjoining trim.

Take it to a detail shop and see what it is.

I've seen this before and it is definitely a cleaning agent someone at the dealership left behind. It dried on them before they removed it. WD-40 removes it .

Saw a DIY home show the other day with a segment on WD-40 and it is amazing what it will remove without damage to surface.
