Better initial throttle response possible?

My first post over here on W222 forum so please excuse my ignorance.
Picked up a very low mile 2 yr CPO'd 550 4-Matic for the wife for the winter.
My 1st reaction on throttle response is that there's a quarter sec lag. I'm use to quicker response so I find myself feathering the peddle to get her going quicker......but wish that was not necessary.
I know it's a big car and all, so I'm trying to cut her some slack..........but am I missing something? Love the car otherwise and we're doing a few cosmetic mods before she hits the road.

I'll add, I'm admittedly spoiled.........the Benz side of the garage is E55 AMG and 16V 190.........the Porsche side, well.....it's faster .

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Are you in Sport or Comfort mode when you feel the lag in throttle response?

Well.... a lot up in the air.
Probably just keep it, store it as a winter drive, alternate drive......this is WI and we get snow
Wife loves her E55 and it's in great shape but no more winters.......W210 body famous for rust and she's had several minor 'restorations'....will get more this winter.
I have a Taycan supposedly coming (for all-wheel sedan) but it's months out....and in-the-end may even be too low for the wife......hence another reason to keep the 550.
Like I say.... a lot up in the air.

If you cannot tell the difference you must have a problem. On my ‘16 S550 4matic there was a BIG difference between Sport and Comfort mode. The way you explained the lag is how the Comfort mode reacts. But when I put it into Sport it ALMOST acts like my ‘19 S63 AMG in Comfort mode (if I put the S63 in Sport Plus I can barely keep the front end from doing a wheelie😂.)

Same! Big difference between comfort and sport. If i switch to sport at a light after using comfort i have to be conscious of how much faster it will jump on initial press of the gas vs in comfort.

Thanks. I gave this a shot today after experiencing some a couple of rough shifts recently. Seems to have worked a treat.

One tip for others, pop the start/stop button off and use your key like an old-school key to make the instructions a bit easier to replicate.
