Ride height: lowering links vs OBD/SW based

I'm interested in lowering my S65 a bit. The options seem to boil down to using lowering links vs an OBD module/SW based solution.

Lowering links are ~$225 + labor (fairly easy to DIY) and the OBD/SW solutions are $1,250 ++ from reputable shops.

What are the pros/cons? Other people's experiences?

I already check, not for my car with MBC! I used to have it on my W221 S550 and love it!

If the cheap Amazon module doesn't do MBC, then the Renntech one does. Pricey but will do the job.
