ABC Switch

On my 2017 SL550 when I press the ABC switch, the ABC stays on permanently, even after turning the vehicle off and back on. It can only be deactivated by pressing the ABC switch when I choose. On my 2018 S560, the ABC (called Magic Body Control (MBC) on the S Class)switch automatically resets to off whenever the car is turned off. Perhaps both cars are functioning properly but I would prefer the S Class ABC (or MBC) would remain on whenever I activate it.

Can anyone confirm if my S Class MBC is functioning properly or perhaps my 2017 SL550 ABC is not opera

ting properly? Perhaps both cars are working just fine but are programmed to operate the ABC (MBC) differently.

I am pressing the 2nd button on the left. Does this activate/deactivate ABC or just raise & lower the nose?

Possibly it works like a learned function with the Key? Set your seats, steering etc, then store settings for user.

That second button raises the whole body a tiny bit so that you don’t scrape the bottom on railroad track crossings or steep, sudden inclines such as entering or leaving parking lots at the street. I use that button to raise my SL at a local automatic car wash so the bottom does not scrape on the rail that guides the car through the car wash.

I have also used the button at a tire dealership to enable them to get the hydraulic frame lift under the SL. Under normal driving 99% of the time you would ride with the button “off”.
