As far as exterior, certainty the difference in appearance is too small and doesn’t even worth it, but drive quality of 14-17 is just so damn good. 18-19 drives smoother but certainly doesn’t worth the difference (unless that $ difference is nothing for u)
You are right, only the owners of 18-19 models would prefer it over 2014, even at such a huge price difference.
The reason is that they have experienced the advantages of the newer car and know first hand how dramatically improved it is.
Unlike internet and magazine "experts" who "think" they know better..........

Correct, thanks for confirming my statement. I would however be careful and more realistic with referring to at as a "dramatic" improvement cause even MB themselves call it a facelift after all. 2021 W223 will include a dramatic improvement certainly on the driving experience with it's improved auto-pilot, rear wheel steering, etc etcl while the '18-'19 is certainly an improvement but it's hard to say it's a dramatically improved since I've tested the two cars, the '15 for years and the '19 for 2 weeks before I decided it's more exciting to add M760 to the family and keep the W222 to experience something dramatically different (not necessarily better but at least dramatically different). The improvements and differences to me were not dramatic but I'd say they were too good to convince all those who are upgrading from W221 to certainly go for facelift one and skip the '15 to '17, but not dramatic enough to convince all '15-17 W222 to upgrade. I truly respect your opinion though.

Rami,

With all due respect I believe you are missing the point. For those who have experienced the performance difference in the S63 from the two groups (group 1 ‘14-‘17 and group 2 ‘18-‘20) there is much more of a difference between those two groups than there is a significance difference between the same two groups for the S450/S550/S560. I have significant ownership and driving experience amongst all of the years with AMG and non-AMG and one cannot mix the difference since AMG put in millions of dollars of new R&D into the ‘18 model year that did not get into the non-AMG variants. This makes a much bigger difference in the AMG ‘18 vs the non AMG variant. I am guessing you have not owned an S63 or have much experience with the AMG S63. The rate and timing (sometimes) of the changes to AMG vs non AMG S Class cars is striking and this occurred with the ‘18 S63.

You are right, i was just talking in general for S550 '18 vs S550 '16, not a the AMG model vs non-AMG. I agree that there is a dramatic difference between AMG and non-AMG (absolutely true) but I just have hard time believing the same car (for instance S550 vs S550) is dramatically different comparing 15-17 and 18-19. Probably you guys understand the AMG part better than me, cause I mainly used my S550 as a luxury family car for the reason and time I drive it for, as I personally prefer other manufacturers for the sport car at home, but I guess at some point i must try the sport version of MB (AMG).

Agree completely with MTrauman and Absent. Asking an AMG question in a non-AMG forum made little sense to begin with. Every AMG owner here stated the same thing. 18 and up...
But then again, the original OP is MIA which is annoying. Uncool to start a thread and then walk away. Who know what he was actually looking for.

Btw. what year is your M760?

These are very nice cars with a still acceptable grill. Love the V12 paired with AWD. Enjoy!
They had killer deals on these and the low lease rates made them twice as tempting. BMW will always take a bath on 7 series leases. If you purchased, you will have to hang to the car for a long time. Too bad the BMW V12's are also being discontinued...

Super nice car. I experienced the M760i xDrive on the BMW performance track in South Carolina in May 2018 in the two day BMW car control class. It is not as performance oriented as the S63 but man is it a super nice car—love the v12 and it’s sound. It never was designed as a track car but frankly neither is the S63. I hope you are enjoying the BMW!

Agree.
760 is a truly fabulous car although undeservedly underappreciated by folks who never experienced it.
I was very, very close to getting one, went for S63 only because it was easier to modify but would definitely get it over S65, purely for the practical use of AWD.
