Retrofitting Distronic Plus to a W222
HOLY CRAP.
I didn't think this could be done. I was wrong. Sorry, this video is not in English. Great to watch/follow along though! Yes, they are using OEM parts and following WIS. 23P is the package code for these driver's assist features of course

Retrofitting distronic is simple because it was available for the car; just
not ordered as an option.
It’s an exercise of spending more money to add a feature later.
CarPlay was not available and therefore more difficult/pricey to retrofit OEM.
But there are 3rd party CarPlay solutions out there. If you are hands-on you can use the Joyeauto and get wireless CarPlay going; something you can’t even get in a 2020.
But beware, some odd issues will pop up due to a 3rd party retrofit.

Interesting post but I dont know what part(s) to order to fix steering issue.
I have distronic but the auto steering disengages after 5 secs.
FYI it was creepy fun travelling behind a truck for 150kms
