New S65 grille and rotating tweeters
Hey everyone, some late Christmas presents came today for my car. I got the awesome rotating tweeters and this S65 grille. Will post before/after as well as install pics when I go to my shop next week. I have seen nothing but good reviews on these tweeters but just curious on the grille if anyone that’s done an aftermarket grille experienced issues with the Distronic Plus not being able to see through the grille? Not sure if the material on the radar cover is the same or not. I know the tweeters work perfectly and are plug and play but the grille does have me a little worried.

Sick! This grill I do like a lot. Can you confirm whether or not it has a cutout like what I describe in the below post? How is the quality?

This one does not have the cutout for Night View Assist only Distronic Plus and Surround View

Thanks, I don't have the 360 camera but I have not ever seen an aftermarket grill that doesn't have that extra bar of black on top of the distronic system where the camera is. I'll have to live with it.

Hey guys just thought I’d update you all with before & after pics of my new grille and rotating tweeters. The tweeters were plug and play and work flawlessly and there is even a noticeable improvement in sound quality, and the Distronic Plus is working perfectly with the new grille, I was worried for nothing. Before & after pics below, enjoy!

Looking awesome! I'll bet many folks will want to do the rotating tweeter upgrade...such a party piece.
I have the same grill (oem) on my S65 and I still can't figure out why it doesn't have the AMG badge sandwiched in there (some do, some don't).

Thanks I love it! And this did not come with a badge but had it did I would’ve removed it lol. Are you the original owner of yours? If not it may have been removed or it has the $0 cost option that debadges the entire car.

Based on what my guy told me and watching him do it, it is a pain in the ***, the door panels have to come off and the wiring and all that is not very straightforward. They are indeed plug and play however and the second they’re hooked up the car immediately recognizes them and syncs up the ambient lighting and everything but professional installation is highly recommended.

Alright, that by itself has just killed the idea or any intention of me getting it :S I have a phobia of letting people messing around with anything related to panels or dashboard! Always feel like once they are removed they'd start squeaking :S anyway i wish they were plug and play :S

I just bought the tweeters from Amazon based on this post, and I'm looking forward to installing them myself. I'm hoping once I get the door panel off they'll be a relatively straight forward install.

Update: installing the tweeters is pretty easy as long as you have some mechanical/ automotive aptitude and are not scared. I would recommend using plastic panel removal tools, I did it with the plastic tool I use to mount bicycle tires. If it's the first time the panels have come off, it takes quite a bit of force, not nearly as easy as the factory tech video makes it seem. I also recommend using magnetized torque bits. I missed the hole, and it took me longer to extract the bolt then it did to install one whole door.

I'm looking for replacement that has all option cutouts. 360 and night vision... any links?
