New Fancy Floormats
Anyways, a bro on the forum (I dont recall who) put me onto these suprisingly high-ish quality floormats. They look great and seem quite durable. For the most part, they stay where they belong. However, I'd like them to hug the interior contours a little better. And so my weekend task begins!
Question, any ideas on how I can get them to stick to the factory carpet a little better? I dont mind permanently affixing anything to the floor mats themselves but do not want to permanently do anything to the factory carpet. Here is a picture for reference:

These are the type that are in my wife's E63. Her's came with clips that go attach to the matts and go behind the trim to keep it in place. I think after some time they will just mold to the contours better.
They look really good BTW.

Nice!!! I like the looks of those. As far as holding them in place, perhaps velcro strips here and there might the best thing to try first. Cheap and reversible.

So no clips. They are cheap aftermarket ones but I'm impressed with the durability. Going to try some velcro...

They are made specifically for the S, link is below. As the other forum member said, shipping is 6-8 weeks. My rear carpets arrived in a month while the fronts were 8 weeks. Just be patient and you'll have some cool & cheap floors in no time:

Thanks! Love the Nut Brown and pretty rare. As MacMP said, they really dont need to come out because of the pockets they create. Plus they are pretty non-porous so no need to deep clean them. Reminds me of the exterior of a fake leather shoe. You just have to vacuum up the dry stuff, hit it with a lysol wipe and they're like new again. But to answer your question, removing them and reinstalling them would suck so I'll rarely go that route.

Peeps, back with an update. After some googling on carpet to carpet adhesion, I landed on double sided carpet tape. I got this stuff at Home Depot:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Roberts-...-588/204067881
So far so good. Its cold in RI right now so I left the car running with the feet heaters on full blast for around 30 minutes (includes my 20 minute drive home). Chopped up a bunch of tape and started pressing the mats to the factory carpet. Sticking good so far. It looks almost factory at this point but we'll see how it holds up (car is currently cooking the adhesive I laid down). The tape is marketed as temporary, so I dont see any residue impacting the factory carpets. Its meant to affix a carpet onto another carpet or hard woods so they dont slide around, in a home of course. While tackling the job, I noticed that the passenger side is a bit off. You have to trim off a small piece in order to get the set to seat properly. And so the scratch test begins with the excess. Its pretty GD strong. My almost full force attempt with a semi sharp knife reaped a scratch. Another cut on the same area broke the seal. So as long as you dont have people hopping in your car mashing rocks into the floor mats, I see a decent life cycle for the cost. More to come on the longevity of the tape.

My mats don't have clips but they also don't move around. However, in the passenger side, I took a large black paperclip to hold a minor bow tighter against the carpet. I also used a piece of industrial strength Velcro underneath a couple spots.
