Choosing between Continental Contact DWS06 and Michelin Sport A\S +3
Hi everyone,
I know we have been discussing about the tires in this forum all the time but I really need your help this time.
I picked up my 2020 S560 a few weeks ago and hate the road noise of the run flat good year tires. So I decided to upgrade them. Stuck between continental DWS06 and Michelin A/S 3+.
Any personal experience with this two brands. I need something very quit.

Yes I'd think the Michelin A/S 3 plus would be better. I put Uniroyals on my 2017 S550 and am very happy with them and they are about a third the price of the major names. Only have 3K miles on them so not really sure how well they are gonna hold up but according to reviews they do hold up very well. Only 150 dollars a tire for the 20 inch wheels I have. Uniroyal is made by Michelin, actually owned by Michelin is my understanding. They have a very beefy tread too and nearly impossible to hydroplane in rain. They are probably slightly more noisy than the A/S 3's depending on the grain of the pavement. I'd suspect I'll get over 30K miles on these tires from all I've researched. They do grip very well in turns, I've taken some off ramps and on ramps very fast and no issues there. Ride seems good too although I almost wish my car had 18's like my last 2015 S class did as the car would definitely ride better than on the 20's thats a lot of the issue there.https://www.walmart.com/ip/Uniroyal-...iABEgIBzPD_BwE

I went through the same dilemma and already knew and had great experience with the Michelin AS3+ . I put them on the S and they transformed the car. You can't go wrong. Only thing quieter and better is the PSS but the wear rating is less. I bought a W221 spare with correct lug nuts and could not be happier.

I switched from my stock Goodyear run flats to the Michelin A/S 3+
i am happy with them. I also struggled with the decision between the DWS.
i had the Michelins on my prior Mercedes and i needed something with a little traction if we get some snow so I wanted to avoid summer tires.

Thanks for reply. I have actually narrowed down my picks to Michelin AS3 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I’m in California and don’t mind to put Summer Performance Tires.

My 2019 came with DWS vs my 2015 that had Michelin AS (I believe 3's). For everyday driving they are very similar, when pushed the DWS are no where near as confidence inspiring. When close to their limit they get downright squirrely- especially at speed and those limits come on much sooner than the AS3's. I am going to switch out the DWS very soon...

AS3's great tire. Remember you arent pushing these cars like on a Z06 where tires can be used to their fullest ability. That said from orig Goodyear RF's to AS3's and the car is smoother and more grippy and I drive fairly aggressive. Cant go wrong with either but the Michelins for me were the way to go.

Definitely nothing really wrong with the Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ's I can find. Very happy with my purchase, I've had them a couple of months now. They are a really good all season Ultra High Performance tire, Handle nice, Ride nice and are fairly quite, perhaps the Michelin is a little more quite but not by much I'm sure. Since these tires have worn in with about 3K miles on them they have become a little more quiet on varied road surfaces. For one $136 a tire at Walmart they are a great bargain.

Michelin AS 3+ is the way to go, and Costco’s the place to go when they are having their Michelin discounts.
The biggest thing I noticed is that the tire construction technology gets rid of the premature wear at the tire edges. Nice even wear with confidence inspiring performance. The stock Pirelli’s lasted a mere 8K miles due to edge wear which had nothing to do with my car’s alignment.
I’m swapping out the horrific Goodyear run-flats on our BMW for Michelin AS 3+ after buying a aftermarket spare to plunk in the trunk from Bimmerzone. WORST tires EVER. When you are worried about your family’s safety based on the performance of tires on a dry road, or even a slightly damp road, there’s something wrong with the tire.
