s550 questions for a new buyer
1) I read that this car can be scary to own when it hits 75k+ miles but to be honest, I am surprised because Mercedes tend to be reliable vehicles. What are your thoughts on purchasing a 2015 s550 with about 50k miles?
2) Is extended warranty recommended?
3) How much would it cost if I were to swap the steering wheel out with say a 's450' steering wheel?
4) I do not see any major differences between a 2015 s550 and a 2016. From what I understand, 2014 is the first year and its pretty much the same car from 2014 to 2018...right?

I was debating between this and the Range Rover Sport but I called for extended warranty on it and 4/5 third party companies did not cover the Range.

i did have one final unexpected repair and that was a new Active body pump. That cost about 3000 dollars for dealer to do. I would rack it up as a fluke failure.
the car run perfect!
I do not have any rip off extended warranties. .
oh ps I did have to spend about 500 and installed adjustable rear camper rods And got alignment with corrected camber. I got tired of the rear tires failing on the inside sidewall prematurely.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

The AMG car has a bit more stuff on it so I think it will be worth it. On my 2008 S63 it cost over $10k in the first month of ownership which stuff that died including the Nav unit. Then I got a 2012 S63 which also was moderately expensive to own but I didn't go into the warranty too much and some of it was leftover for my 2018 car so they gave me a bit of a discount. I did use about $3000 in repairs on my 2012 and the warranty was around $4k.
It's hit or miss. Personally, I'd say just wing it and don't buy it for your situation.
