Ceramic coated the s550! Video review!
Greetings! We recently did a video on the Avalon King Ceramic coating. Watch as we talk about it and apply it to our S550! Highly recommended overall. Afterwards I talk a little about the car which is a highly optioned example that is almost five years old, but looks brand new!

You might want to note in your video that isopropyl alcohol is not supposed to be directly dumped on your car. A typical IPA used in detailing is a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water. Using isopropyl alcohol at full strength could permanently cause damage to your vehicle's paint.

Car looks good! Did you follow the rubbing compound with a finishing polish?
As previously said you dont want to use straight isopropyl alcohol it will cause swelling of the paint.
I used to use a 50/50 mix but now i prefer something like carpro Eraser or Gyeon Prep to remove all the oils and residual polish prior to coating.
Also it Would be wise to use gloves when applying a ceramic coating you dont want that stuff on your skin! Havent heard of this coating before but most ceramic coatings require a cure time before getting them wet usually 24 hrs.

Agreed, was going to mix it but didn't have a spare spray bottle handy. That's why it was instantly wiped down.

I use Avalon King. I tend to re-coat my car every year after a thorough cleaning, paint chip repair, and clay prep. Last year’s coating is still in place. The ceramic keeps fine swirls away. A light mist of concentrated isopropyl alcohol won’t harm your paint as long as you wipe it off immediately.
Ceramic is cheap and easy an takes only the time of prepping the paint.
