What was going on with your car before you had the problem fixed? What were all of the problems you were facing?

hey so I have the same problem with my command unit I didn't or don't believe that a replacement won't work but im not sure ! so I did order the same part but if it does need to be reprogramed how much do u charge and do u have a number I can call u on so I can send u the unit im getting

in my case, the audio sounds crackly, and about 20-30 seconds later my command screen shuts off mid drive, randomly. It’s very odd, wondering if it’s the an amplifier or power supply problem. I understand these systems are sensitive to battery voltage, so I installed a new battery. I have also tried resetting/rebooting the command.

I am actually having a similar problem on my 2014 S550, I figured I would reach out and see if you found a resolution to your problem here?
in my case, the audio sounds crackly, and about 20-30 seconds later my command screen shuts off mid drive, randomly. It’s very odd, wondering if it’s the an amplifier or power supply problem. so after paying $400 to buy a used unit i was told in order for it to work it had to be virginized and the dealerships dont do that , then after that i was told by the place i purchased it that the dealership could reprogram it that the dealership was mistaken that it could be programed by them ,i had to convience the manager to get his tech to do something they said they couldnt do until i presented the instructions on how to do with the xentry program now at first it was supposed to be just and hour to do so they told me to come back they made a new appointment once i got there and got settled all of a sudden they said it would cost more because they thought i was taking the old unit out before ii got there now mind u they were installing this used unit but they said they needed the old unit to get the codes off it so i decided to leave it in,but the first crazy thing that really pissed me off was they wanted to change me over 2 extra hours because they had to take it out mind u it only takes less that 7 minute o take this unit out 4 screws and pulling off 4 wired thats it so they were charging me 900 dollars just ti attempt to reprogram which they wasnt sure if they would have success at all i told them that was ok because at first i thought instead of having to send the used back it wouldnt be so bad to pay another 180 it woould be worth it boy was i wrong.!

sorry i had to get that out so i did find a fix that i know of for the command unit i found someone who repairs them im thinking orginally he told me 380 but he tried to charge me 500 but i told him i would only pay him 480 because i figured i could have mistaken 380 0r 480 but not 500 so thats what i gave him he actually repaired my unit he said the mother board had failed it only took him a couple days to fix it , but hes not the best with his conmunication so if he calls u and says do u want to pay him now on when its done just go ahead and pay it right then and there because hes actually finishing ur unit up and he wont contact u again unless u call him in his mind hes done with the unit and ready to send it off wierd guy but he got the job done it took a few days to get my 4 days to get my unit back also make sure when u pay him he actually takes it that day to send it off make him give u the tracking as well unless u trust him not to take his sweet time lol ,so i made an appointment to have my unit put in on monday , the only thing is i have to get a software update from the dealership which should be 180 but its better than the other option that was given! now i havent put the unit in yet so im not sure if hes actually 100% right if i need the software update for sure but im thinking he could be riht i will kno for sure in 30 min when i reinstall it, i will let u know the outcome either way first when i install then if needed the software or not and if so when i go on monday to dealership and the out come. JUST INCASE I DIDNT MENTION ITS A 6MONTH WARRANTY ON HIS REPAIR, IN THE END I SAVED 900 TO 1,100 DOLLARS THIS ROUTE IN TOTAL I PAID 480 PLUS SHIPPING PLUS 180 IF I GOT TO GET IT PROGRAMMED THATS SO 660 IF IDO 480 PLUS SHIPPING IF I DONT IF I WOULD HAVE WENT THE OTHER WAY 500 PLUS 900 0R MORE PLUS IF U ADD THE DIAGNOSTIC U PAID FOR 180 THATS $1,580 YOUR CHOICE!

so i just got done putting it back in all my songs in my memory seems to be there everything is working the only thing its asking for is the dvd for the maps im not sure if it even needs software update just maybe the disk will do the job so im a do a lil research ,so it seems that it retains its memory other than the maps iff i can get the dvd it needs for the maps i might see if i can do it by just loading it in the changer and that should be less 180 on the software update wish me luck will lwt u know!
