S65 1800rpm vibrations
Hi All,
Problems gone. Car was bought with 70000km on it and vibrations started around the 85,000km mark.
Vibrations at around 1800rpm
Only one fix to get it right...... a lot of sagging of old componentry and the harder you drive it the more often it will occur.
Sagging or collapsing of all of the following is the cause, viaually noticeable on replacement.
Replaced engine mounts, transmission mount, drive shaft centre suport bearing which is a housing, and the bearing which fits in that.... two sets of tail shaft couplers
........
And while under the hood the idler pulleys, and tensioner assembly and new fan belt....
Regards
Grant.

Around 6000 in parts and labour and another 2000 in parts from overseas 8ish all up roughly.....
I had to buy lots of parts from overseas MB sppliers / dealers separately due to coronavirus taking our Austrlaian MB far too long to get parts 2-3 months vs compared to 14days by fedex dhl and I couldnt leave car on the hoisst with mechanic
That took around 4plus weeks to do as I had to get a few other parts, like i did the 4 wheel speed sensors in Oz they are 1 x 400 plus bucks but I picked some genuine new in bag 4 x from england for 600 deliver roughly
I found a good supplier in the middle east who ships genuine new in box MB parts
What a hassle
