2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
I just did a pad swap on my 2019 S63 and after 100 miles or so I have no dust whatsoever. Pads are silent and bite as hard as the factory MB pads that I replaced. My pads were about 40% worn but I was just sick of the black dust all over the car and my driveway after a wash. I got mine from Rock Auto for 100 bucks for all for corners. Did the swap myself as it was super easy. Pads are Powerstop Z26/23 Ceramics.

It doesn't happen always but it is worth it to me to have way less black brake dust.
The dust is just nutsr! Black driveway after every wash drives my wife crazy lol. Armor All dust repellent works but only last a couple days and hard to find.
Glad you like them. Im going to bite the bullet on them. Can't really find anything negative on them.

Nope, not yet! When the time comes I will choose something else that dusts less.

Water alone is not enough to wash such hard-to-reach places. Additional cleaning methods must be used. These can be special hose nozzles or brushes. They are usually sold in specialized stores. But when washing such places independently, there are significant disadvantages. First of all, it is a high risk of water entering the engine compartment, where the engine is located. If this happens, the car will not be able to drive, and a complete cleaning and disassembly of the machine will be required. This is quite expensive, so it's better to anticipate this and use Sparkle Wash the Woodlands. Personally, I rarely do a full car wash. I get it waxed with a special wax to keep it clean for a more extended period.

I just put some forged wheels on my car with polished aluminum rims and I am not seeing any brake dust with the factory pads.

I don't see how thats possible with the factory pads. Mine make much less dust now that they have 30k miles on them, but when they were new the front wheels were noticably black after a day of driving.

On my last two road trips, I decided to experiment with Distronic. Obviously there is a technique required. Distronic did it’s job fine but all four wheels were dust covered like never before and that’s running OEM pads. All to say I applied Armor All’s product this weekend. I’ve got the same road trip coming up a lot…so I’ll experiment some.

Distronic is a feature I could maybe like but I need to learn how to set it. As is, it’s heavy on the brakes and a dust generator.

Do you have the lane keep on also? Turn that off. Are you on the OEM pads or ceramic? I don’t have any dust problems at all since I went to ceramic.

Lane is off. Pads are OEM. What ceramic did you go with?

I wonder if ceramic coating the wheels would be a solution to dust accumulation?

It really isn't. It can make washing the wheels easier after the fact, but it doesn't help with them not getting dirty by brake dust in the first place.

I have coated my winter wheels. Cleaning is a bit easier, in that power washing with foam and then detergent (in a self carwash) removes about 95% of all residue, compared to 50% before.

I'm not sure the brand, they are a small manufacturer that my mechanic contracts with, but they are great. I think any of the Ceramic options posted here will work great. The difference is HUGE

Ceramic Coating does not really help much. Had it done. Best you will get is using Ceramic Pads like Disc Italia. Simple cleaning with just soapy water is all you need. If you want some simple protection after a cleaning, use Reload diluted 50/50 with Distilled water. i give a quick wipe with this after every wash. OEM pads were the worst, but they are designed for performance not beauty. These heavy cars driven at high speeds on the Autobahn need good brakes.

After the wash, i use a electric EGO Blower with a stubby nose to get the water off quickly, then also use 303 on the tires. Nice mat finish. A little 303 on a round wax pad applied to the tire gives a matt finish, 2nd coat will give a little more shine if you want it. Just a spritz on the pad, the bottle should last for at least 2 years even if you apply after every wash. 303 is also great on black trim. It does not last long; however, it is inexpensive and does a great job.

Hoping this helps someone in the future…

I switched to PowerStop Z23 pads 2 weeks ago. They are much cheaper than DiscItalia, around $50/axle. I’ve used these on many other vehicles and liked them, so I thought I’d give them a shot.

Performance is very good, but not as good as MB pads. I’d say it’s 95% of the way there. The initial bite is not quite as good and the feel is a bit more spongy for whatever reason. Actually stopping distance is great (evaluated while bedding the pads).

The dust is gone. I mean gone. My wheels do not get dirty unless it rains, period. Zero brake pad dust in 2 weeks. It impressive, whatever compound PowerStop uses. I’ve had the same results on my other vehicles.

For people who like their car to stay clean, this is one of the best investments you can make.

Oh yeah, the difference in dust is amazing. The brake feel isn't quite as good like you said, but I adapted to it quickly.

I went from having to get the car washed even if it hadn't rained at least 1-2 times a week, now it looks freshly washed after weeks.

On 1/29, I drenched my wheels with the Armor All product. Way early but no visible accumulation after a few trips.

That product works okay, but its not a long term solution like ceramic pads
