As car enthusiasts, I think we all like to read about “barn finds,” when someone finds some wonderful old car, sitting unused somewhere for several decades. When that Cobra Coupé was found in that storage unit, that was just an amazing story. Anyway, I wonder how a W222 would fare in such a situation, how all the electronics would hold up, unused, powered down for 30+ years. My guess is that pretty much NOTHING would work and the expense involved to bring it back to life would be substantial, if not prohibitive—if the parts could even be had at any price. Way different than changing the oil, flushing the fuel system, cleaning the carburetor, replacing the battery and hitting the “start” button on a 60’s Cobra—and hearing that wonderful ROAR!
Open trailer and a tool box plus gas and you could run with anybody.
Surely MB electronics in a preserved 17 won't fail.
