A 52% lease residual on 10k miles 36 months isn’t too bad on the 6 cylinder... The deal to have may be on a loaded example of that. We priced out a $114k S450 with all available incentives under $1000 a month with $2k down + 5 MSDs. However, I’m having a hard time justifying not having a V8 in an S Class!
I am a lover of the 450 V6 and have it in both my E wagon and SL. Quite powerful and smooth. That said, in my S Class, I just feel the “need” for a V8 and the S560 really delivers. I can’t imagine anyone wanting more performance in a big sedan. The engine feels like a turbine, with gobs of torque. Love that V8!

I think Mercedes understands that as well and in turn makes you pay to play with the 46% residual on the 560! Almost like a lease tax. I prefer BMWs sale support in having the same residuals and money factors per model line.

My contact at FJ Motorcars told me the VP of sales at MBUSA for the Western region was in and communicated that the avg transaction price is $118k and take rate is at 80% 560 and 20% 450. He’s expecting more STD features and an MSRP bump of a starting price over $100k for W223 S500.

I don't mind a V6 either, but most S450s have non-nappa seats, which is a dealer killer for me.

Well, tomorrow is the last day of the month. Do the current incentives immediately go away on the first day of the new month or is there a grace period if a dealer has a deal in play? Do dealers receive the incentives info on the first day of the new month or does it take a few days? Or, do they already know what they are? Do we expect incentives to be better or worse in October?

Today and tomorrow are the day to make a deal. Not only is it the last day of the month, it’s quarter end close, which is a big deal in hitting volume targets and for the dealer earning lump sum bonuses from MBUSA. My sales person at FJ Motorcars anticipates sales support on W222 to remain consistent as it is already in “build out” with the current aggressive trunk money and rates.

Happy to share his info through private message as he’s in the internet fleet department and focused on volume versus gross profit.

You will have to submit a credit app before the end of the month to lock in the deal. However, the dealer will be highly motivated to “punch” the car to you in order to report the sale.

Seems like same as last month. $6k trunk money +$1k loyalty (lease) or $5k loyalty (purchase)

S560 RWD residual: 46% (36/10k)

Today, I took delivery of a new 2020 S560 sedan that I ordered back in March. With very knowledgeable assistance from Wolfman and ajm0623, along with input from others posting in this thread, I was able to get what I feel is a pretty good deal. The car had an MSRP of $131,365.00, which with the dealer discount, along with current incentives, came to $110,570.00. I put down multiple security deposits totaling $8K, which brought the money factor down to .00021 and for a 3 year lease, 10K miles per year, the monthly with tax came to $1,539.48. Certainly not the best deal I have heard of, but about the best deal I have seen on a special order car. Thanks to all who chimed in to help. Here is what my car looks like on paper:

Lovely spec and seems like a great deal! Very favorable for a $131k car.

Which dealer did your 2018 end up lease returned at? I remember when you ordered that car, the Selenite grey, night vision, MBC, 18in wheel S560 you ordered simultaneously ended up dealer traded to WI Simonson. I saw it on the ground there months later brand new.

I’m trying to find an MBC equipped car on the ground in SoCal to take advantage of the current incentives but haven’t had any luck so far. Much rather pay for that then the AMG cosmetics package. My current 7 series has the “autobahn package”, which is their version of MBC and I’ve gotten very used to a road predictive adaptive suspension with active anti roll systems.

The new car came from MB Laguna Niguel and they took the 2018. Yes, the dealers rarely order a car for stock with MBC. As has been discussed, probably over 95% of new car buyers don’t even know what options exist—and don’t care. When it is time for a new car, they go to the dealer, decide on the model & color they want and that’s it. I have a friend who could buy & sell me several times over. I beg him to order a car, but every three years, he goes to the dealer and chooses a car off the lot. Seems crazy, but he is normal, it is the likes of US who are the odd ones.

Stream, we’re not too far apart. The first thing I do when I buy a new car is pull the run flat tires off of them. I figure I’ll have to replace them once during the lease term anyways so they sit in the garage until the car goes back.

I’m currently in the same debacle as your friend, my sales person at Fletcher is trying to woo me with these incredible incentives, but the car would definitely be less bespoke than what I have now. Frankly I don’t think I could enjoy another larger luxury sedan without 4 wheel steering, predictive adaptive road scanning suspension, and active roll stabilization.

To me, ordering a new car and having it delivered exactly as you specified, is quite enjoyable and entertaining. It is well worth the extra money one usually has to leave on the table, compared to really being able to grind out a deal on a car sitting on a dealer lot. In addition, I got my car with FOUR miles on the clock and within SIX days of the ship docking in Long Beach. No demo rides for looky-loos, no sitting in the hot sun for weeks or months, I got my car fresh off the boat. I buy my clothes off the rack, but not my cars.

As for the slick, new options that will supposedly (still waiting to see if EABC actually makes the cut) be available on the W223, my lease was up in four months and I didn’t want to order a car sight unseen in the flesh. In addition, with ALL that new tech, I didn’t want a first year car, especially when I’m so happy with the W222 and was able to slip this very late 2020 in under the wire. I’m sure I’ll probably end up with a W223, but probably a 2023 or 24. You guys can sort it all out for me, then I can order one when I know all about it.

Question Question about your 2020 s class

Hi there - did you end up buying the 2020 s class? I have a 2020 s class 560 4matic. No problems so far at 9000 miles. Have you had any issues come up?

That is probably OP's most favourite S-Class, based on the W222.

I’ve had new 2015, 2018 & 2020 S Class sedans and then the 2022. After MBUSA “repurchased” my 2022 S580, I bought another 2020 S560 sedan, a CPO car. My personal feeling is that the current S Class, has a more hushed cabin and that the optional 4D audio system out shines the optional 3D of the previous model. For the most part, I feel that EVERYTHING else about the 2020 is better and that the W222 is a far superior car overall. If I could order a new 2020 model today, I would.
