Today, the dealer swapped out the run flat tires for the Bridgestone QuietTrack non-RFT that I specified. My new S560 is now “THE” most quiet, smoothest riding car I have ever been in. It was great with the RFT, now it is even better.

I have come to the conclusion that perhaps my new car is not any quieter than most W222’s, but that my early production 2018 S560 was noisier than most. Some of you may recall a thread back then when a member was so upset about sound entering the cabin of his 2018 W222, mostly through the door seals. At that time, I did not feel that my 2018 was defective in that way, but I am now thinking that it was, as the 2020 is significantly more quiet.

Anyway, very happy with the new car, especially with the new tires. Silence is bliss!

My 2019 S560 is as quiet as a church mouse, even with RF tires.

Did you see this Tirerack comparison test of your QuietTracks vs Michelin CrossClimate vs Pirelli Cinturato AS Plus II?

I’d like to see your review of the Pirelli Cinturato AS Plus II tires. The Pirellis won in ride quality and noise comfort by a wide margin. I know those are the most important factors for you. Bonus: they’re about 20% less expensive.

Glad you’re loving the new 2020’s quietness!

Enter my new 2020 S560, which I just got the other day and which has only 90 some miles on it so far.

From the moment I first fired this car up, taking it for the test drive before I signed all the papers, I could both hear and feel that something was different and in a very positive way. All sound entering the cabin is highly reduced, including engine noise. The sound of passing traffic on roads and even on our notorious
My 2015 S-600 is incredibly quiet.
I probably paid less for it (at list) than you have with your 2015, 2018, and now 2020 combined...................
But enjoy the life out of it.....

I too have the 2020 S560 with the magic body control and 18" wheels with the same continental tires. The car is extremely smooth and super quiet. Whether in L.A. traffic or driving to Seattle and back (we had cabin fever and had to get out) the car is simply magnificent to drive and completely isolates you from road noises and vibrations. Very impressive.

2014 s63 AMG.
When your in the 20 inch rim only choice , selection is far less and I could only find summer tires. 18 inch rims are always a better choice in tires and ride, so if you step up to 20 inch rims ,your giving up something’s in road noise and selection. And I find the Michelin’s a better choice then the Continental s My rims are OEM so really wouldn’t want to go smaller. 18s sound small now a days.

Well, I leased all those cars. Every 2.5 years or so, I order a new one. Probably not the best way to pay for cars, but leasing has been a good fit for me. Glad your 12 cylinder is treating you well and so disappointing that a new, non-Maybach version, is no longer available.

It was! The most recent Continental run flats that came on the car were not bad at all. The run flats that came on my 2015 S550 were very noisy and rode like they were made of bricks. The run flats that came on my 2018 S560 were much improved and the ones that came on the 2020 were better yet.

I run these Pirellis on my Lexus, they are wonderful tires. Great ride, super quiet, very refined. I have had a bunch of the AS Plus on both my LS460s, and really considered the Quiet Tracks this time as the AS Plus II had just come out and there were no reviews. I saw that review, glad I went with the Pirellis again.

Sadly, they dont come in the 19 or 20 inch S Class sizes.
