So I bought my dream car S560 today, Crown Eurocars in St. Pete, great dealer
They had just got the car in stock and out of the garage after being Certified and there were not even any pictures yet on their site but they had the car listed. Talk about timing in checking their website daily it paid off. When I saw the options list, the great price and low mileage for a 2018 i jumped on it. They gave me what I wanted on my 2017 Lunar Blue S550. Very happy with that dealership, they sold me the Lunar Blue 2017 last year and were the original sellers of that car when new so they knew the history of that car. Now for the good stuff. Just about every box was checked on the option list with this car. The sticker retail new was $152,650. 17K miles on the clock and car is perfect, not even a blemish on any of the wheels. They really pay close attention to detail at Crown when they Certify a car, I'll bet any marks on the wheels they have the mobile wheel guy take care of. They replaced front and rear pads and 4 brand new rotors. Brand new Continental tires. Car is Diamond White with Beige Espresso Brown interior. It has upgraded designo Napa Leather and Black Flowing lines wood. Car has the rare 3D audio system and the night assist. Heated everything and Distronic of course. Amazing find, glad I jumped on this one quick because I don't think it would have been at the dealer for very long. Has the rear Chauffer package with TV screens and reclining power back seats. The car is also the AMG line which is an unusual combo with the options it is equipped. This car is very rare about as close as you can get to a Maybach without spending Maybach money.

Also question for anyone in the know as I've never had a Benz with Magic body control as this car has this option. Does it not work at night time? I noticed the car seemed to ride unreal during the daylight when I test drove it but tonight it rode only about as good as my 2017 S550 I traded in, which is not bad but not as good as this car rode earlier during light hours. One last pic of my wagon and my S in the garage. Looks like I've got the same combo as Streamliner now, lol. A Wagon and a S560. The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is that this car uses the same Data System as the 2017 I owned (Verizon). It was the 2019 model year up that used the much better ATT Data system and the much better Mercedes connect mobile app. Oh well, I'll live, lol. I think I'm gonna create a bunch of high def music on memory cards and play my music that way, the 3D System deserves good input. Too bad one cant buy pre recorded high def music on SD cards but I read quite sometime ago there Copyright Infringement issues so it's just not done. The car says on the options list CD player in the glove box, either I'm blind or it's not there because all I see in the glove box is the wheel lock kit and the Air scent bottle. Am I missing something of where the location of this CD player is located? it sure is not in the dash, I checked that out carefully too.

Since it uses two small cameras behind the windshield of your car to scan the road surface up to 15 meters ahead to measure the height of upcoming bumps and dips, I guess it cannot discern the road surface as well in low light conditions.
Yes, I think you're right, MBC relies on cameras and they can't see in the dark. I think also the glovebox CD player was considered a dealer accessory in the later models.

Lovely car, I have an s500 here in the UK, it also has the rare magic body control.
Initially I was concerned it was not smoothing out the speed bumps as I thought it should.
I then found that it was because I was slowing down for the bumps as that is a normal reaction, apparently you have to keep your foot on the gas to make the mbc work as it should.
As mentioned above the cameras cannot determine the road surface at night.
Thanks all. Ya somebody above was looking out for me yesterday, this is a needle in a haystack type of car. Thanks for the info on the magic. The car also has the magic sky. Kinda fascinating I could see the tint changing in the sunroof as I hit the button from dark to light. I'm getting use to firmer seats already and the higher drivers seat position, the 2017 I had seem like in the lowest seat position it was maybe a couple inches lower than this car. The foam under the leather is noticeably firmer in this 2018 too. I don't know if it's a change MB made for 2018, different venders of material or because this car has designo Leather int ? Gonna take some getting use to the tiny center console box too, just enough room for my iPhone and thats about it, it's only about 1 inch deep. I was surprised with this, my 2017 had a huge center console box. Might have something to do with the 3D audio, maybe there are amps or other electronics located in that area which use to be center console space. The trunk is also noticeably smaller than my 2017 due to the big subwoofer box and the rear seat package. All my tennis gear fits in though with what space there is and thats all I care about. The engine and the trans make such different sounds in this car vs the 2017. The 2017 sounded more aggressive and racy, something to do with exhaust I guess. The 2017 felt a little faster than this 2018 but cant say for sure, maybe just because this 2018 is so smooth it's tougher to feel the acceleration.

No CD in my 2018 either, it is what it is. I was so mad about it for a month and have let it go now.
And yes, no room in the trunk, my rear seats recline so the trunk is TINY. Got used to that too.
And yes, the console box is TINY too, someone told me since the rear heat and A/C and vent controls and stuff took up a lot of room in that area. So small... depressingly small compared to my 2012. It is what it is.

Thanks Steven. Yes all these things I can get use too. Do u notice how much more firm your seats are than in your last S? I’m getting use to that already too. The engine is so incredibly quiet. Even when you get on it. Almost like an electric car. My 2017 almost felt more spirited with the engine revving in sport mode but I’d say this 2018 handles better. I tried the curve mode today for the first time. I realized that it just has the wiring for a CD player in the glove box. I guess I won't bother putting one in. I'm gonna try the internet radio and in car hotspot this week with the entertainment package this week free trial. I'm not holding my breath, I suspect it will be as bad as in my 2017 as it uses the same antiquated Verizon system, I had almost ruled out getting a 2018 for this reason but this car was way too good to pass up. My 2019 Wagon is lightyears ahead as far as internet stuff goes with the ATT system. I guess I'm really gonna have to get into putting my own high def music on SD cards and make use of that slot for really good sounding music via the 3D audio.

I would stream Tidal or AmazonMusicHD over your phone hooked up via USB. Best quality audio you can get.
You are exactly right. I was craving more bandwidth earlier today and happened to think of tidal and downloaded it and have already loaded about ten albums, mostly steely dan. Yep, I'm an audiophile. lol. I do notice Amazon sounds even better than the apple iTunes. The built in internet radio sounds very good too on certain channels. I signed up for the entertain package today, I kinda like having internet in the car. Everything seems to work fine as it should. I could never get it working properly in my 2017 S550. I thought it was the Verizon Service, guess not, it's more of a car dependent. A tech support guy at customer service at benz told me that with the 2014 to the 2018 cars it's a real hit or miss type of thing. Some cars it all works fine even the 2014's. Others don't register each time to the servers and it is very unreliable. I'd pretty much given up on it with my 2017.

Make sure on your Tidal app you have it set to Master quality for streaming, it doesnt default to that. I had Tidal and switched to Amazon HD just because they have more music
It sounds KILLER in my Lexus with the Mark Levinson audio. Night and day.
Ya, I might cancel the Tidal after the free trial and go to amazon HD too. I have the regular amazon right now which is free with my membership and it sounds pretty good. I also have apple, I think even the regular amazon sounds better. I might cancel the tidal, apple and the mb entertainment package. Like my 2017 it's fairly useless in this 2018. MB did not switch over to the good ATT data services until 2019 model year. I kinda knew this but could not let it be a deal breaker on this car as the car was just what I was looking for and has the perfect options. The in car internet works sometimes but not other times you never know when it's gonna work. Was the same on my 2017, oh well. $18 a month is too much anyhow.
Just polishing the car with Ceramic coat and fully charging the battery. Noticed remote start was not working and perhaps that’s why. It’s never a bad thing to fully charge the battery every now and then. Probably increases its life. Strange though remote door unlock/lock works fine but remote start always says their is a error on their end. Remote start works fine on my 2019 e450 wagon. That’s about the only thing that does not work on this S560 so far. I can live without it worse comes to worse. Even send to Benz works fine. Maybe a low battery. So far it’s been on the charger 24 hours and still charging. Just a 2 amp charger but normally when I do this with my wagon it’s under 24 hours.

Ya, that'll do it when a car sits around a lot. My car I had been sitting in it for a while drooling while playing tunes on the 3D audio with the engine off. Still charging 29 hours later, hopefully the green light will be on by tomorrow otherwise I'll start getting nervous that maybe I have a bad battery although I've seen no indication of that.
