Ya, they don't seem to last too long, must be fairly soft rubber compounds I guess. My post above was in response to SW20S original post of the differences in the the way the front VS back look.

I love new tires and usually replace mine every 18,000 miles or so. I much prefer using the first half of tire life, rather than the last half. In addition, for $1,000.00 or so, I feel that new tires are a true bargain, when it comes to keeping myself & family safe. And, lest you think that I throw money away, I am usually able to sell the old set on Craigslist for $200.00 or so.
So new tires are on the way. I went with the older Primacy MXM4 in non run-flat.
Huge PITA about exchanging tires with TireRack, I have to bring the old tires to my house and have them picked up there. They wont pick them up from the installer.

I saw, that doesnt bother me really. I'd rather have tires that ride great and have to replace them more often.

I had MXM4 on my last E Class they were great tires. They were continually out of stock at Costco when I went to replace the tires on this car so I ended up with the A/S Tours. I think that the MXM4 is a superior tire.

COSTCO! Best price, truly excellent installation & balancing, nitrogen inflating and they stand behind their work 100% at any of their thousands of stores. That said, my local Firestone Store, will meet Costco prices—including promotional pricing—and does free flat repairs, free safety checks, etc. on my Bridgestone tires, which is also their brand. And, I can walk there from my home.
New tires are in, I cant get them put on until Wednesday but I did go look at them and they do not have this larger lip on the front issue. The sidewalls are the same.
Great. They look good. So is the ride quality difference really noticeable? I made an appointment today on my 560 to get the Conti ssr tires road force balanced and check for rim bends. I get a slight vibration on the highway which is not normal. The brand new 200 mile loaner e350 they gave me has the same ssr tires and they are smooth as silk on the highway so I know the tires are capable of being ok. Plus I’ve gotta get software updates on the ambient lights and the air balance as that turns off everyone I I start the car which is not normal.
There is definitely a ride difference compared to the run flats. Its not dramatic, but its there. Especially at low speeds the damping is much better, sharp bumps are much more rounded off. On the highway they transmit less of the little road irregularities to the cabin. All in all, its better for sure.
I'm sure they will last a lot longer too, Probably get 35K miles out of them. Run flats lucky to get 20K miles. How are you planning to get rid of the Conti SSR's? Mine only have 2K miles on them right now, tempting to go the route you did and not even mess around with balancing of my current tires as that little highway vibration is gonna drive me crazy so I gotta do something. Maybe I'll ask the dealer if they'd buy them from me in partial trade for the tires you have. They could put them on a certified car I'd think. On certified cars the requirement is the tires have to be worn less than 50 percent. They could save a lot of money in having to buy new tires on a car they took in trade with worn out tires. I guess I'd probably go with the ZP's, they seem to get good reviews and a lot of people say they are much better than most run flats.https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...n&autoModClar=

I just had the tire shop dispose of them. Not worth the hassle of trying to transport them. And then of course I wound up having to transport the Tours anyways!
I think if you're going to do it, I'd do the non runflats, I don't know that the difference with the ZP Michelins would be worth it.
