My new 2020 S560 came with Continental RunFlats. My plan has been to replace the RunFlats with regular tires. I ordered a set of Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tonight, anybody have experience with these tires on the S Class?
I have been running Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus and P7 Plus II on my LS460s and was happy with them, but they don't come in these sizes nor do the Bridgestone QuietTrack which would have been my second choice.

I have them on my E Class and am completely satisfied with them. They do what I want them to do. They have good traction and are smooth and quiet.

I have the Michelin A/S3+,19”, non-RFT tires on my SL and they are great. Smooth riding and quiet. I do prefer the Bridgestone QuietTrack tires on my S560, but I have 18” wheels on that car. I also have them on my E450 Wagon, which also has 18” wheels. It is unfortunate that Bridgestone doesn’t make the QuietTrack tires in more sizes.

I have them on my wifes car and they are excellent tires. Quiet and good in the rain. We wanted an upgrade from the Pilot sport AS 3+ which obviously had changed. They were a great tire, but they were louder than previous compounds. The Primacy were a good improvement.
Got them mounted. So far so good, definately takes impacts softer and glides better on the highway. Noise seems about the same which is fine.
One thing to note, the front tire size has an aggressive rim protector, and the rear tire size has none, which makes the tires look quite different on the rims which I'm not thrilled about. Will post pictures later on, just got it cleaned up and put back in the garage and its already dark.
Those of you who have gone from run flats to regular tires, what are you running so far as pressure? The pressure on the cap says 35 but obviously the sidewalls are softer in these.
Here are pictures of the tires. First is the front tire, then the back tire. You can see the sidewalls are really different.
I'm leaning towards sending them back. They're actually kinda loud on coarser pavement...and the different sidewalls bug me, if I don't love them why have that bug me?
Not really that crazy about the looks of those tires and not even crazy about the looks of the Conti SSR's like you had and I have. Like I said with mine I can live with them but when it does come time to replace them I think I'm just going to go with these tires.https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...RatingsReviews These are run flats but ride like non run flats, I have similar primacy ZP's on my Wagon and really like them. Check out the reviews on these tires. Maybe you can trade for these? That would solve the issue too when you turn the car in if you still have these tires on the car.
Run flats do have their advantages. On my wagon a couple summers ago I gashed a tire and was able to drive the car with no air in it to the dealer for repair. Without run flats that woulda been a disaster. At least with these tires I don’t think your gonna be able to tell a lot of difference between the run flats and non run flats. Maybe somebody that has these tires can chime in too. There was a huge difference between these tires on my wagon vs the tires the car came with Goodyear eagle sport run flats. I see a lot of the new s class comes with those sports. They ride extremely firm like wagon wheels. Lol. Worse than the Conti’s.

Ya the ZP Michelin look very good on my wagon. I’ll post a pic later. Now you got me thinking about making the change. These Conti SSRs are not the worst of the run flats though. If my car had the Goodyear sports like the ones sitting in my garage that came off the wagon no question I would make the change now. Maybe I can open a tire dealership outta my house garage .

Here we are talking, yet again, about how much more comfortable the ride is, in a $100K+ S Class, when the RFT are replaced with conventional tires, which is just INSANE! S Class cars should come standard with the best riding, most comfortable tires available, PERIOD! Of course, they should also come with a full size spare, concealed under the trunk floor. I know it’s an old story, but MB and other makers have truly lost their minds with these ridiculous RFT.
Whats really crazy is MB putting the Goodyear Eagle Sport tires on a lot of the 2019 and 2020 model year S class cars. When I was car shopping the past month for a new S class I did see at least half of the new 2020's with the Goodyear Eagle Sport Run Flats. From my experience with my Wagon the Goodyears where the most harsh of all the Run Flats. The softest riding ones seem to be the ZP Michelin Primacy tires and the Conti SSR like I have along with the Pirelli's kinda seem to be in the middle as far as Run Flat comfort goes. If not for the super duper MBC suspension on my car I probably would make the change to non run flat tires. I know on my 2017 it made a big difference when I went from the Pirelli Run Flat tires to the non run flat Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ tires. I would hesitate to change my new to me 2018 over to those tires if only they made them in a 19 inch for the sizes I need now. The 2017 S I had was the 20 inch rims. For 150 dollars a tire it woulda been a no brainer on my new car. The Michelin Primacy ZP's are nearly double that, great tire though too as my wagon with them has proven and surprisingly they are MOE Run Flats, so not all Run Flats are created equal from what I've seen.

They should at least let you option a spare like BMW does, with a spot in the floor under the trunk, in case you want to replace the runflats.
Here's my other dilemma though. When you went from the OEM RunFlats to your QuietTracks you were able to keep the same load rating, 100. For me, I have to go from a 102 XL Load tire in the front to a 98 load rating. The rears have the same load rating run flat vs regular.

So thats an entirely different tire! Thats the Primacy 3 ZP which isnt an allseason tire, the one I would consider is the Primacy MXM4 ZP which comes OEM on the S560, or I can get the Primacy MXM4 non runflat.
So interesting what I have learned. The "MOE" tires are not true run flat tires like you find on BMWs. Its a proprietary setup comissioned by Mercedes on their OEM tires that is supposed to offer much of the security of a RunFlat without as big a ride tradeoff. So when you see "Mercedes MOExtended" thats what these are. If you look at OEM RunFlats on say a BMW, they are NOT these.
Same size wheels? No I have a 2010 Luxury E3504matic My front and back are 245/45 /17
Can you post a picture?
Drove around more today, I like the tires I would keep them if it weren’t for this. They are good tires. Don't know why your front tire looks the way it does. Would dig into that if it were me.

I have these same tires on my S and E class cars and the ride is really great. The only thing I was a bit surprised at is they seem to wear quickly and I am a fairly sedate driver. Unless you’re right foot is made of lead they should last around 30,000. Good luck.
