In frustration I went to FJ and they had four, one was the all white one in the pictures. This one has the further upgraded Designo Platinum white interior with additional white leather surfaces and the black piping. I admit I had not seen one in this combo. They made me a great deal so I bought it on the spot. Since I was alone the salesman delivered it to the house. My wife was a bit surprised but pleased I got the car.

It's a lovely SL with a beautiful interior. Congratulations!

'94 SL600,'05 SL600,'06 S65,'07 E63,'14 E63S,'09SL600 all sold, ‘15 S65,‘18 E63S,'17 SL65, '17S65Cab
The SL65 includes the Bang and Olufsen sound system as standard. I was surprised how good it is, worth the option cost. Modifying the dash to install the popped out tweeters in the two corners would be concerning.
We had a Mars red SL600, really liked it. Mars red was replaced with Jupiter red, they are very similar, Jupiter red has slightly less yellow. The problem is it is special order so it is a $12k option. I saw Jupiter red on an E63S wagon, it looked great. My theory with the White interior is I could have the car wrapped if I got tired of the Polar white. I now really like the all white. None of the four SL65’s FJMC had were equipped with Carbon Ceramic brakes. The polished wheels on the car have turned out to be fairly easy to keep clean with the standard brakes.

How about MB stops the outsourcing of colors and sticks with an Earth red?

In the end, I settled for Polar White, optioned the way I wanted it and am happy with my choice, especially after doing the brakes & wheels. Now, if I can only find a shop to do the audio upgrade that doesn’t make me break out in a sweat when I think of them dismantling the interior.

What is an SL45MM? I haven't seen that designation before...

I had only ever had V8 SL’s and was not even considering a V6. But then I test drove the SL450 & 550 back to back and the difference in ride quality and nimbleness was quite noticeable, with the lighter engine perched over the front axle. The acceleration was also impressive and was way more than I would ever need. So, I ordered the SL450. After my self imposed 1,000 mile break-in period, I took the car out to a deserted spot I know and floored it. I was just SO impressed with the acceleration, that I dubbed my new SL “Mighty Mouse.” A few months later, I put the forged, polished aluminum, AMG wheels on and shortly after that I put the AMG Ceramic Composite Brakes on it. I did the brakes because I really like the looks of them, but mostly because they produce ZERO brake dust, a feature which I highly value. Anyway, by then, I was thinking that my lowly, little SL450 was quite unique and was in need of a different moniker. So, being a fan of the Ferrari 275MM “Mille Miglia” cars, I decided to rebadge my car SL45MM. There might be another SL450 out there with CC brakes, but I highly doubt it. I get a lot of double takes, especially from the SL63 guys.

Ha- Great story. I do love the brakes, and man do I hate the brake dust. I don't care what MB says- it is a defect, no other car I've owned gets dust on the rim like MBs. I wonder if they do it on purpose so you will wash the car more often keeping them looking good on the road. I never considered the 450, I've always been a big engine guy- I may have to check it out. The engine is as smooth as the V8?

For my big S Class, I still prefer the V8, even though the S450 is probably quite sufficient. I only drive the SL locally and never take it out on the highway. I cruise up and down Pacific Coast Hwy, and never, ever miss not having a V8. I actually feel as though the V6 is smoother than the V8 I had in my 2013 SL560. We take the S560 on road trips and every now and then, when you want to pass a line of traffic or a big rig, the torque and instantaneous acceleration of the turbo V8 are much appreciated.

As for the CC brakes, I don’t know why MB doesn’t offer them as options on their non-AMG vehicles. If I could get them on my S Class sedans, I would check that $8,900.00 box every time. BUT, seeing as how I lease the sedans and don’t ever anticipate keeping one for more than two or three years, I would never retrofit the brakes, as it is just way too expensive. If I am not mistaken, Porsche offers the CC brakes on every model they sell, which I feel is a very smart and profitable thing to do.

I really do like the power in my S560, especially on the highway in covid world (where I can finally use it with less cars on the road).

As much as the CC brakes are great to look at and perform, the regular brakes on other brands stop just as well as standard MB brakes and don't produce dust! My 2017 7 series probably had better brakes but I could go 2 weeks of daily 50 mile driving and wipe my finger on a clean rim. We have the technology...

What an odd car. My only guess is that the original owner complained about the rough ride and the dealer swapped out the AMG 19’s or 20’s for these 18’s.

Between 1993 and 2011, I had eight, new, Lexus LS sedans as my daily drivers, with which I commuted between L.A. and Orange County. The brakes were great and the dust factor was easily HALF or may even a third of what my current S560 produces. Yes, the technology is certainly there, why won’t MB embrace it? Who knows?

Nah. The owner was a big fan of the 2015 Honda Accord LX and decided to swap those style wheels onto it.

Yep, aluminum pedals and all ... too bad the close-up of a wheel was a rear wheel, would really like to see the front to see if the big AMG-sport package caliper is under there ..
Update, just tried to pull up the VIN (WDDUG8GB1KA462394) and comes up "too new to be in the database". The ad by the way mentions 19" AMG wheels, but the real question is if it somehow has those 18s with the larger front brake calipers ...

Does not look good IMO. I wonder what it would look like with your 18s which are way better lookimg IMO.

My issue with those wheels is they are just plain painted cast wheels. If they were machined or something, or even had a darker more expensive looking finish...

Here's my car in the same colors on the 19s:

They actually put way snazzier wheels on Accords nowadays!

No prob! I think they would look better. I just have an aversion to plain silver painted cast alloy wheels like those 18s, they look so cheap to me.

2019 E53 Cabrio, Lunar Blue. 2020 GLC 300
I specifically looked for a GLC 300 with AMG package, for my wife. I love her AMG wheels . The turbo four is surprisingly fast and smooth . Wish I had her wheels on my E53! Her GLC was CPO , but I would gladly pay the extra for this package. The staggered 20’s and wheel flare and front fascia all worth it . My friend has the S 560 and switched all us run flats for regular. He got so many bent wheels!

A CPO sport package is a very hard find on a GLC300. Thats a great find, I agree the flares and wheels take the GLC to a new level. We have a nicely optioned one and love it, but no sport! Non run flats are the only way to go for best ride quality.
