Also, others have reported that the tube from the unit in the glove box to the small vent on the dash had become disconnected or blocked. And I have had good luck with putting a small washer onder the center of the fragrance jar to raise it slightly in the glove box unit.

Mine seems to work better when I'm taking a lot of curves in the road vs straight highway driving, I guess the stuff in the jar gets sloshed around some when on back roads and on the highway it just sits there.

I am rarely heavy on the gas.... maybe it was one of those rare times that dislodged it... I put it back in the holder and it has not happened in the years since.. strange

I took mine out and threw it in the dumpster ... lol. Apologies to those who like it, I tried it for three months and wife agreed it didn't add anything to our enjoyment of the car.
Car smells fine without it, even get a little of the original leather aroma.

I am happy that MB decided to delve into adjustable visual and olfactory dynamics with the ambiance lighting and fragrances...I didn't think I'd like either, but I do like both

I thought I read somewhere here that a person also could not get the car to produce the scent and it was due to the protective film still being attached to the bottle. Once removed, worked as designed. Maybe something to check.

Mine worked really well for the first year but doesn't seem to do anything anymore. The best use was on Interstate 5 in CA going past the Harris Ranch Beef ranch where you can only imagine the stench from 100,000+ cattle. The MB is the only car that really does lock out the smell if you go on recir in time but if you don't the fragrance can knock it out pretty well. I have to show to the service advisor on the next visit to see what he thinks.

My fragrance stopped working, I took it to the dealer, and they said that on a prior service visit, they performed an update, and did not re activate my fragrance. It would be nice if they knew what they were doing, and checked these things before giving my car back! They did leave some black smudges on my dinamica headliner for me to notice later though...

I am going to take mine in for another issue (seat not rolling back) and see if they can re-activate mine. Coffee bean idea seems really good!

I kinda like the feature, I wish my wagon had it. I like the Freeside mood about the best. It is strange how it turns off on it's own a lot or from high to low. Can't quite figure that one out.

When you drive by Harris Ranch it is a great feature for sure, if your not on recirculate when you see the yards it is too late and man does it smell. In a normal car that is the end, but with the fragrance feature and reciculate you can clean it out and getting smelling fresh again. I like the cofee beans idea since the little can of fragrance is very expensive!
