Late night post and the other Poster mentioned $175- Battery... No MB battery is $175-, only possibly the AUX.
None of these work for the testing / monitoring as a solution....

The $175 was the charge for testing only. I recently bought an OEM aux bat for $125 otc out the door. This was about 25% off.

No reason main battery needs to come from MB, besides aux... Champion, Deka, Interstate, etc...

That's a good price for a OEM Battery. Easy to do if you have the time and don't mind DIY. My AUX lasted 5 years. On average, Battery lifespan is 3 to 5 years. Extreme Cold and Hot climates will effect lifespan as well as upkeep. As they say millage will vary...

You are correct, however many people feel better knowing its an original part. Even though its not Mercedes who manufactured the battery. My OCD wont let me live with a different sticker / markings on a battery, but that's another story... Getting essentially a same spec battery non branded by MB can save $$.

Remember to Check the Jump Pack annually to make sure its charged. Better to be over prepared sometimes than under...

MB dealers in S. Fl. are quick to discount parts as business is slow for them due to Covid. There are 6 MB dealers fairly near me and if you tell them the other guy is selling a part cheaper, they'll usually match or do better.

When I went in for service for water in Headlights yet again, I asked them to test the battery since it was over 7 years old, they said the same thing $175- to test. I decided not to test, however, it was part of the Service anyway they should have mentioned that. Part of bringing in the car for any service, they will usually test and look at Tires/Bat/Wipers/Brakes to charge for more services if they are needed. Its a shame that they were willing to take money for something that was part of the standard service.

I checked my '16 S coupe's main battery at the charging posts with 2 different digital battery testers. Both showed bad battery. Rechecked with analog battery load tester and it showed good. Guess that's why MB gets $200 or so to do a battery test as the lining in the trunk has to be removed to get to the battery. You'd think MB could provide an easier way to test a battery.
