New Rattle

Sadly, I'm now spoiled to a pleasurable quiet cabin so even the slightest rattle becomes amplified. About a month ago I began hearing a rattle, it's inconsistent, and only on rough highway pavement (sometimes).

Yesterday I finally discovered the source -- it's coming from the ceiling drop down mirror in the back seat. I may try enclosing a small sponge, but that would be an inconvenience (and a surprise) for a unsuspecting passengers when they open it.

Anyone else have this problem? A fix?

I would consider in your situation that very thin spongy strip molding that has the 3M peel and stick backing and apply it to see if it absorbs the jar of the road.
