Found the right fit

So I’ve been a fan of the Mercedes S class for years and finally had the nerve to step up to the big league and purchase a 2015 S550 with about 52K miles on it back in 2019. Got a great deal on it since it was a CPO. The car was really heavy but the V8 more than made up for that. However, over time I realized that my dream car wasn’t a good fit for my driving style. So the car sat for the most part of 2020. Then, mid this year I decided to find another car that was a better fit for my driving style. I landed on the CLS450. No V8, but a turbo V6 so there should be more than enough power. This car is a beauty. Very responsive steering, light with less rollover, quick, and sleek. I think I’ve finally found my keeper car. She’s a 2019 that only had 11K miles on it. Perfect color combination inside and out. Please welcome Chelsea!!!

Absolutely beautiful CLS! I often think I would be happier in one of these over an S as well (for the driving dynamics), perhaps it will be the next one.

You should definitely take one for a test drive. These cars are highly underestimated!

Beautiful car. Inline sixes rule! How is the ride, quietness and overall refinement compared to the S Class?

Nice car but not having a power sunroof shade would be a deal breaker to me

The shade is manual and totally weird given W177 (entry level Mercedes-Benz Series ) comes with the power or fully automatic shade when you opt the pano roof . 4 door coupe styling is no excuse at all

Since it is manual, can the shade be closed while the roof is opened unlike the MB automatic ones where it opens the shade then the roof (or just open the shade and keep the roof closed) or closes the roof then the shade (or keep the shade open but roof closed) and can't be in between?

AMG GTS (2016), GL63 (2016), SL63 (2022) -- Old Cars: E400, CLS 63s, ML 63, CL 600, S550 ...
The CLS is a great car. I had a 2014 CLS 63s (below). It was really a beast and I loved it. But I did still sometimes want more sport and sometimes more luxury. So I decided to essentially split the car into two - so I sold it (traded it in) and bought an S550, as well as an AMG GTS (and a E400 cab for daily use). I love these cars, but I always find myself missing the CLS. Of course, really what I want is all three (four). So hang on to it - the CLS is a near perfect car. I think of all my past cars, this is the one I miss the most. I need more garage space ...

Your red is beautiful.

The ride is comparable to the 2015 S class I had. The handling is way more responsive with less body roll. It’s definitely a different level of aggressive refinement than the S.

To be honest…the first time I manually moved the sunshade back it did throw me off a bit. But that wasn’t a deal breaker to me. There were too many more positives for me to consider.

I agree. The CLS is a gem many folks pass over, but this car has plenty to offer.

I hated the fact that my $100k GT53 didn't have a power sunshade. Probably a $5 motor and switch lol.

Not trying to defend Mercedes' decision... but...but... just curious, is the car lighter though
I am hoping the bright side is that it saves some weight at least ... another reason why sports car sometimes have straps instead of door handles. Could the sunshade be closed while having the sunroof open? If so, that might be another benefit.
