W222 airmatic compressor problem
S550 Airmatic compressor problem
I have a W222 S550. Everything is great except I keep hearing the airmatic compressor running every few minutes. I've had many Sclass and this is the first time I've come across this problem.
Car always seems to be the same level.
So errors showing in Star.
Any tips on the best way to zero in on this problem, I know Star can test for leaks etc, just would like some pointers suggestion before I get stuck in.
Thanks in advance

I would start by removing a few panels and squirting some soapy water on lines looking for bubbles. Compressor running a lot typically means a small leak somewhere.

Everything is relative but isn't it a bit more than a small leak if the compressor runs every few minutes? Just odd if the suspension keeps level even when parked overnight or so.

Its really strange, I left it overnight monitoring the levels in the AIRMATIC module and they did not change by even 1mm
I had already swapped out the compressor as had a spare sitting in the garage.

Just a thought, check the routing of the compressor cable if the harness is found to be chafed once repaired reposition the harness.

I have a 2014, and the car will lower after about 15 min. if I have it at the lift height. When driving non lifted, every now and then I will hear the compressor kick in. I do think it will not keep air in the system over a certain time. Not totally sure.
