My ride is a 2014 S63 AMG
I really want to get the ILS+ installed as well as the updated map, traffic sign, and always start in S
Problem is I am 77 and don't do whatsup or Facetime. Just not an electronic techie
If I rent your package and take it it to my indie would that work ??
thanks
rental is super easy
all you do is connect the kit to your car and the laptop to wifi
nothing complicated
you have also the option you mentioned
I have no problem with that
do not worry
The BenzNinja did it again. Gave my 2014 S63 AMG new capability withe ILS+ , Updated night vision , new map , and let me start and run in S without having to push buttons.
Really slick setup. His coordinator in the US gets the kit to you and the rest is MAGIC

What is updated Night Vision? What does the update do?

Seems like a lot of the parameters can be changed/activated.
Benzninja updated my Night View Assist in five ways:
1) First, a simple update of the original 2015 software to the most current version applicable for my hardware.
2) Increased the detection area by coding close-to-the-car detection as well as long distance.
3) Activated the spotlight function to double-flash (instead of single) when detecting pedestrians.
4) Activated both Rural and City functioning. Just Rural functioning was activated beforehand.
5) Lastly, activated "Animal Detection" which comes deactivated from the factory (!) here in North America. With living rurally -with deer, bears, and the occasional big cat- this is a godsend!

Good description
First test run and it flashed on to show a pedestrian crossing the street I was turning into before the headlights picked him up.
The whole system works.
Ill be doing this this weekend I hope and so far it's been a good experience - I have the list of items that I will be going for and having done on top of hoping I can update the screen menus to the newer S classes but we wont know until BenzNinja gets in the system.
I have had the Intelligent Lights enabled for a few weeks now and it is absolutely amazing!
You can easily see the lights adjusting to give the driver as much light as possible and at the same time, it makes sure oncoming drivers are not subjected to the additional light.
Peter set up ILS for my 2015 S65. Love it. Drive around with high beams on and never get flashed. I love how it lights up pedestrians.
Sign recognition put speed limit in the cluster but doesn’t pester you when speeding. Transmission modes is interesting... Sport mode has the box shifting better and seems less inclined to drop 2 or more gears at the slightest provocation. Sport + is a bit much for most driving I do daily but will be fun on that twisty road. I don’t miss having to reach down with every start to put it in S to keep it from ‘stalling’ at stop lights. Many nice improvements. Thanks Peter!
my second test drive was equally interesting (at least to me)
I found a dark less traveled road and made passes back and forth about 7 miles each way.
you can see the light reflect off signs a mile down the road, but yet, "not" blind oncoming traffic.
Of Note
The resultant beam pattern with the combination of high and low beams is different than when High beam is manually engaged
if you manually engage the high beam switch, the tree tops start to light up - which we are all familiar with on regular high beam
If you turn off the high beams while the ILS+ is engaged, you only notice a minor to moderate reduction in the beam path, unless its very dark.
if very dark, the high beam pattern is long, and of course, much more noticeable when deactivated
The low beams are aimed quite well and the high beam aids them as the typical arrangement.
This tells me that MB didnt just "brighten" the road... the intelligence is real
the darker the road, the further the high beams extend out
i still could not get a "flash" from oncoming traffic after another hour of high beam ON with intelligent lighting engaged,
HOWEVER
there was a moment when I disengaged the system while a car was oncoming, and in mere seconds after disengaging, he flashed me
So the only flash I received was a few seconds after deactivating the ILS+ System..... strange..
I have no explanation other than the lights were adjusting(moving) after deactivation and gave a glare at the right moment as the beams moved to the deactivated position.
I did turn on manual high beams to test.., but had to stop quickly...... because every car flashed me !
Overall, the beam pattern almost feels like daylight ... it is really nice.
you can tell the headlights are special when you look at them on the car...... special indeed
Other banter,
For the life of me, I cannot understand how the DOT or SAE would reject these.... one road test would win anyone over.
maybe allow them while further studies are done.. maybe maybe???...... but I digress.... fantastic technology.
The program is set for right hand drive cars make sure in the menu u choose left side traffic as it is set to right side traffic from factory.
Just to clarify, if its set to "right side traffic" then it is set for a left hand drive car. We drive on the right....
Right-hand traffic and left-hand traffic and a Coc
Left-hand traffic (LHT) and right-hand traffic (RHT) are the practice, in bidirectional traffic, of keeping to the left side or to the right side of the road, respectively.
In LHT, traffic keeps left, and cars have the steering wheel on the right, putting the driver on the side closest to the centre of the road, and the passenger on the side closest to the side of the road. Vehicles configured with RHT have the steering wheel on the left side while the driver and passenger occupy the same positions relative to the road as in the case described previously. The accelerator, brake pedals and clutch are positioned the same way for both left and right hand drive vehicles.
RHT is used in 165 countries and territories, with the remaining 75 countries and territories using LHT. LHT countries in Europe include the Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland, Malta and Cyprus.
