Replacing the moulding
I got very lucky and found a good used moulding to replace the dented one on my car (don't ask how I did that ;-) This is the one at the base of the window on the LR door. Part# A2226900880.
Now, how does the old one come off and the new one go on? After careful study, I do not see any fasteners or fastener holes, nor any residue from foam tape or adhesive, so it must 'snap' into place like so many other parts on cars nowdays.
