Hello All! I'm brand new to this forum, having picked up a 2015 S550 4-matic a few weeks ago.
I'm the 4th owner of the car and one thing I can't get past is the height at which the car is sitting when in the lower suspension setting. There is zero gap between the fenders and front tires.
I attached four photos here to give a visual of what the car looks like in both suspension settings. For reference, those are stock 19" AMG wheels with correctly sized tires.
Can anyone provide some information on what the stock "low" and "high" heights should be? What I could look for to determine how the car was lowered? Seems that software changes is one option and springs are the second... And perhaps what my best course of action would be to return the car to its stock suspension settings?

My guess would be someone put lowering links on all 4 corners. This can be pretty easily resolved with a set of factory links. Either that or there is a SW module somewhere that is causing this, typically found at the OBD port. It is definitely not set at stock ride heights though.
Wheels have also been painted. Hopefully they used plastidip product that can be peeled off if you are not a fan of the painted wheel look.
Your car is most definitely lowered. One of the two aforementioned methods is my bet.

Nothing in the OBD2 port. First available appointment is 3 weeks out at the dealership, so I'll find some time to get under the car and see what I can find in the coming days.
You could have a LoMo module installed, or custom airmatic settings/value via STAR, but most likely you have custom lowering links on your suspension. I won't be surprised if that car rides much better once your get rid of them!
My guess is that someone lowered the air suspension and never brought it back to stock. From what I hear air suspension is fairly easy to deal with and almost any mechanic can do this. Call around and see who has experience. I wouldn't take it to the dealership because not only are they expensive but they might void warranty (if you have any). Don't ride with it lowered as it will wear the inside of your tires pretty fast.
