Would you let anyone do this? I have the image of someone standing on it with a pressure sprayer. 😂

Detail it? What's to see, the whole engine is covered by a big plastic panel ...

I have no plans to do this AND I would discuss it with whoever does my car. Meaning DON’T do it.

It’s really a shame that Mercedes doesn’t allow you to wash the car yourself. 😭

I know about the cover. My C240 was the same.

I just took a look... neither of my car engines have a tail.... but i would likely remove them myself if they did...

I detail my engine compartment 1-2 times a year. Surprising how dirty it can get. Mostly dust, and dull. I find it satisfying when I lift the hood and its perfect showroom new. Recently stopped by my friends shop and he lifted my hood for some wiper fluid, and almost fell over. "are you nuts, this looks showroom". Made my day! LOL Door jambs, and hinges look just as good! OCD is a terrible thing........

I prefer to wait for a heavy rain. Then I just find a flooded area and I drive through it. Takes care of both the engine and the carpets at the same time.

I'm the real OCD then ... I took off and tossed all the black plastic covers and every so often lovingly wipe down everything I can reach. In the process I noticed a little area of oily smudge where the oil line goes into the right turbo. Now that I know about it I can keep an eye on it to see if it needs a new o-ring rather than wait for drops of oil under the car.

That Mercedes engine is a beautiful piece of engineering and I enjoy seeing it!
