Playing from iPhone music library

I just realized I can do this. I was going to load up a USB key for times when I am away from cell signal. I downloaded the library on my phone. If this works in Airplane mode and/or no signal this would save me the trouble of ripping all my CDs again.

Absolutely, it just uses your iPhone like any music player.

I recently discovered this as well, although not an S class. It is nice to have more choices than the same 6 CD's over and over again lol. I don't however have a cell phone but do use my wife's ipad.

You use the iPad in the car for music?

I do. I select a playlist and then stick it in the armrest until I get to where I'm going.

Nope, have never had one ever. Honestly. I don't need one nor do I need to be connected 24/7. With that being said I do use an ipad and I do have a landline

How small is your iPad that you’re able to fit it on the console?

I think it's 5x7 or thereabouts.....I don't put it in view, it's stashed in my arm rest compartment (CLS).

The COMAND support for classic iPods is also great. I use an old iPod nano, just leave it in the armrest, removed only to update the library from iTunes occasionally. A lot simpler than transferring CDs into the Media Register.
