I could be mistaken -- but I do not think you are eligible to purchase any MB warranty. Perhaps some of the resident experts can confirm this -- however, I was just told by two MB dealers (one of which also sells third-party warranties) that you can only buy a MB warranty IF YOUR VEHICLE IS STILL UNDER THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY.

If you purchase your car at a MB dealership, it is less than 6 years since since in-service date, has less than 75k miles, was serviced according to the service schedule, and has been certified according to the MB certification guidelines, it will come with a 12 mo, unlimited mileage warranty. From there you can purchase an additional 1-2 year certified pre-owned ELW policy with unlimited miles. So it does not have to be within the original warranty period in order to get coverage. If the car has not gone through the certification process, then extended MB warranty coverage won't be available outside of the original factory warranty.
I bought this S450 from Carvana and got super lucky I know. They took my wife’s 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite no problem and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree while driving to pick up the S450 on Christmas Eve. Father-in-law helped clear the engine light a block away but there was still a ton glowing up that dashboard.
Got a great price on the S450 too, but I would be very careful dealing with them. They clearly don’t check much. My S450 had very good service records and I was able to get the details from the previous dealer so I went for it. 😅
Now I know that when we get through with this car we will be buying another S-Class - probably CPO unless my CPA tells me there’s a smart way to lease it through my business.
I love this car way more than I expected so I will be buying these from here on… unless MB keeps messing up with that HUGE TABLET on the W223. It’s neat, but… well I love the W222 in every way.
Thanks for explaining. 👍

To me, buying any extended warranty is just paying a discount on future repair costs. It wasn’t so bad 3 years ago but then everything tripled in costs.
If you win and warranty gives back more than you paid, you’re an exception not the rule. All these warranty companies couldn’t survive as they do

Worth it on high $ vehicles
It’s worth it on a higher end AMG. On the G63, things go expensively wrong at around 42,000 miles. Outside of the standard warranty period.
The repairs will cost more than the cost of the MB extended warranty.
So depends on if you are keeping or selling the vehicle, prior to that.

The math of extended warranties favors the company that sells them. Probably the reason in the first place why they sell these things.

Well simple math says that an owner can save his money for ANY repairs and is far more likely to be ahead of the person that buys an extended warranty. OF course bad things can happen BUT again math is indisputable and warranty companies dont sell these products out of the goodness of their hearts, however they do use the same math I am talking about when they sell these products.

Warranties on my 2 of my 3 Benzes have been huge wins. When I had my S600, that policy paid out $24k in claims in 3 years for a policy that had a net cost to me of $1500. On my GL550 which I also had 3 years, it basically broke even. On my current S550, my claims total is now around $13k for a policy that I paid $4200 for 4 years ago of which I still have 3 years and 79k miles of coverage left. I've got the policy advertised by sweet little Danica Patrick with exclusionary coverage. While this policy is nowhere near as good as the one I had on my S600, they still do pay out on claims, although they like to chop down the shop labor rates to levels that are not reasonable for a Benz.
