Squeaky Steering

I’ve been on a road trip and so far did 1000 miles.
Now when I’m driving low speeds on city streets and turn the steering wheel a squeak is now present. I hope repairs are covered with CPO as the car is five years old with 38k miles.
Is it a ball joint or bushings? Any reason to have a safety concern to drive back home 1000 miles?

Yours may be a totally different issue, but within a couple of months after I bought my 2015 in 2019 I had a squeak in the steering, and all dealer had to do was partially remove the steering column under panel and lube the boot for the steering shaft.

My squeak is definitely on the outside. It sounds like new tires on a polished floor (like in the showroom) but it’s the street pavement

Dealer replaced both lower control arms under CPO warranty.
