Cooling seat function - How Cool?
Hi guys,
My wife has a 2014 S350 with the cooling seat function, and as we live in sunny Queensland, Australia, it gets damn hot! haha I am feeling that the seats don't really get that cold? From your experience, how cold should the seats get? When we have the seats on I can't really feel them getting cold even with shorts on, no fan can be felt etc? If the function is not working right, would an error code come up? The car is under the certified programme so if there is an issue I hope it can be fixed? We have only had the car 5 weeks. Thanks AP

Im taking a stab at this.
Because the cooling system has air intake within the seat ( thus the cabin itself) it is not actually going through any real cooling mechanism. it is using air movement through the pores in the seat To cool the seat itself down from radiant heating and also to give the sensation of cooling against your person
So if you start with a 120゚ interior, you will not likely feel anything like a cooling sensation but it will bring the seats surfaces down from the radiant heating quicker than no cooling system (via air movement)
there no actual cooling apparatus in the seat
I could be wrong but feel confident in my description

I live in southeastern USA where it gets hot in summer. They are not that cool but it does make a difference. I can feel the cool air from A/C on a hot day.
