Decided to get the Mercedes branded charger to avoid any complications with the lithium battery but I am not sure if it was a good choice now.
From the instructions one must press the reset button after connecting it which is annoying, it also always seems to go to the second lowest state of charge and it does not seem that after the initial charge it ever goes back to charging to maintain.
Anyone else using/used the charger that can share how it worked for you?
Cant really help on your question but just pointing out that that is actually a ctek conditioner and a similar specification to one of their earlier models, the current model , the mxs5 model, is a higher spec version with various settings including an AGM setting as well.
you may be able to type in " ctek conditioner " on you tube and see if there is a tutorial for the version you have by matching the appearance of yours.
I dont know how long you are leaving it connected and watching the lights on it, it should be at full charge overnight i would have thought.
sorry just noticed you mentioned lithium battery, might still be worth checking you tube
Yes it's made by ctek but I believe it's not an off the shelf model. This is specifically a hybrid for lead and lithium that I did not see ctek offer under their own brand.
The reason I am not sure if it's going into maintenance mode is that if I go back a week later and press reset it goes into the same 2nd indicator and starts charging again.

I see, the fact it goes back to the 2nd indicator after a period of time does seem strange, I wonder if your dealer may be able to shed some light on the subject, or better still even an email to " technical department " at ctek explaining the issue, as they obviously do make them then they ought to be able to answer your question more easily the Mercedes themselves.
If I ask parkplace all I'm going to get is you need a new battery/module/car.
At this point I'm just not sure if it's a poor interface design where the charger always goes to indicator 2 when charging lithium or just poor charger design.

i guess ctek might be a better one to email and ask as they will not have any reason to try to upsell you anything. Hopefully someone else with a lithium battery may be able to see this and have some suggestions, mine is an earlier car without lithium battery
Ours is Mercedes-Benz branded made by CTEK as well, Our model looks different in shape more rectangular form so to say . We have not used it on any Lithium battery either .It should not make any difference when you select proper mode to keep the battery in proper charging condition .
This one has no modes on the charger, the instructions simply say to press reset after connecting for lithium batteries.
Does yours have a mode switch? Can you share a picture?
I havent used the ctek chargers so I cant help with that but I use two models of Noco chargers that have a lithium option for my s63. I commented on another thread so I cut and paste below with some addl info.
Noco Genius 1 - 1 amp (https://amzn.to/3Bqslbc) - I picked this up for the lithium trickle charge when I was out of town for 6 weeks, worked perfect with zero issues.
Noco Genius 5 - 10 amp (https://amzn.to/3Y9kys9) - I got this because I needed faster charging one day, wouldn't have gotten this but I was in a pinch. Not really necessary if all you need is a trickle/maintenance charge.
Noco eyelet (hardwire quick connect) (https://amzn.to/3HrkGxq) - I have this installed in another car and one in the garage I havent installed on my s63. Makes it much easier than getting under the hood every time to connect with the clamps. Trunk installation tucked away and when connected can still close and lock the car.
Ah that's the lead only version.
I tried this one with the SLK55 (lead) and in that application it seems to be better. Just connect and it starts charging and it did display charge level 3 for that car.
