Rename iPhone CarPlay re-sync required?

Does anyone know, if I rename my iPhone, will I need to re-setup CarPlay or Bluetooth?

No, you don't. The name is just a friendly display name. Internally the phone has a unique address/device ID by which it is recognized. I often reset the network settings on my iPhone after a major iOS update and among other things this sets the name back to the default name and I have to change it back to my name. It displays the new name next time it connects to the car. This is actually how I often remember that I forgot to change the name back after the reset, when the phone suddenly shows up with a different name in the car.

Even if it did, re-pairing it takes 30 seconds

Thanks. Yes that is absolutely correct. But is it ok to ask the question?

I was told on Reddit that it should have no effect on Bluetooth or CarPlay.

My phone is now named “ Benz rules LOL”.
