Could be, I only have like 1-2K Km (they are new, I put them on this November). I am using my 18" wheels for my winter tyres though as opposed to the 20" I have for summer ones, so that might dampen any side-effects and I end up not noticing them.

I have 18" for winter as well actually. Will change it to 19" though now.

From this experience I must encourage W222 drivers to avoid Bridgestone Blizzak. It took one winter season for the flanks to go flat in the front and - as I know now - it started becoming ridiculously loud. Really bad experience.

That is great news.

What didn't seem to fit with tires is

"The colder it is the more present I hear a wining noise when coasting after a cold start. When I touch the gas pedal it goes away instantly. It is not dependent on the gear I'm in either."

I think you missed to post it - what I thought didn't fit was that the sound seemed to only be heard when coasting. Yes, that is really weird. If that is what you had in mind. It really is gone though.

edit: hehe, you added it and it was what I thought

That was a direct quote from your first post. Good news nonetheless.

I know, but you edited the post. It was missing the quote before but I still knew what you would probably mention cause it was baffling to me as well.

I have a similar noise and think it’s tires as well. Happens on only certain roads, when it’s below freezing. I have brand new F1 summer tires RFT (they suck ***) and I can’t wait to change them out.

This year I put snow tires on my RR and noticed a loud whine and hum as well creating the same noise in almost the same type of conditions. Turned out to be the pirelli snow tires causing the noise.

Yeah, I have never experienced it as bad as this either. TBH I think it might be because the car is so quiet otherwise. The S560 stock is so super quiet. I think it is even quieter than the W221 600. The noise might not even be noticeable in other cars cause it would be covered by engine and wind noises and what not. Also I have to mention, I'm quite sensitive...used to be an Audio Engineer in a past life.
