things to reset/erase when selling?
Anyone seen a checklist for all the various things to reset and erase when selling a W222? The time has come for me to part with mine, and I don't see a "factory reset" option. :-)

I would erase garage door codes, any and all phone data/contacts that were transferred to your car and all navigation destinations

Interesting, my current car and the one before it had entire phone book from previous user. I haven't bothered with it yet, but hopefully there's an "erase all" option somewhere to get rid of it ...
On the same subject, in Texas there's a webform to report the sale of your car. Supposedly this keeps you from getting charged for tolls, etc. incurred by the new owner (license plates here go with the car and are not replaced with change of ownership)

This is a good thread.
I recently sold two of my BMWs. Sounds like dealers don't care about re-setting the vehicle. We accidently forgot to remove it from the Phone App. We were traveling and my wife wanted to check on our garage, so there is an option to open the vehicle Cameras and take a 360 from the vehicles camera to see what is going on around it.
She freaked out thinking her vehicles has moved or been stolen, as she did not notice the app was still connected to your old BMW instead of our new-to-us X5 as the photos shows a different garage/home, until I realized there are surround view photos was from the old vehicle. So, not only the dealer did not reset the car, also the new owner did not reset the vehicle, but we also did not, and now they have access to our personal info (like contacts, stored addressed, trips, etc), and we can obviously lock/unlock/access or even remote start the vehicle!!, We immediately deleted the vehicle from our app, but in todays world where everything is internet based, it can be scary to buy a car that the former owner still has access to, or to sell your car with your personal info still on it.
If you have Mercedes with Mercedes Me or Mercedes Me Connect active service, the previous owner may still have access to it and see where it sets, lock/unlock it in the middle of the night wherever it is and also remote start it (intentionally or unintentionally). I think it is always a good idea to call Mbrace or Mercedes Me team and ask for the (Registration) department and let them "remove' or "register" the vehicle under your name (not sure if MB dealers would do that automatically with every pre-owned car they sell). Registering it with Mercedes Me under your name is free and has nothing to do with buying or not buying the Mercedes Me subscription. It just insures that now one has access to the car remotely except you (matching your name and email to your Mercedes Me profile which they might ask you to sign up for "just the account; free").

My car still had PO's home address setup in Navigation but the phone book was wiped out and notthing else. I would for sure eliminate that, there is also an easy procedure for deleting all the garage codes from HomeLink.

Pretty much as said, you wanna erase all the data and Homelink configuration. Both have a factory reset option. I usually do the COMAND/MBUX factory reset even when returning a loaner and I had my phone paired.
