4-year old S560 with less than 4K miles. Risky?
What do you guys think?
A barely driven 4-year old S-class with under 4,000 miles. Out of warranty. If you were in the market for an S-Class would you consider buying it? Or would you stay away from it because of potential maintenance issues down the road with oil leaks, etc?

I don't want to spoil anything, but with the M278 there's always risk at oil leaks. Maybe it was part of a rich man's collection, so that's why it wasn't driven all the time?
Anyway i'd ask if i could test drive it, and take it for a pre-purchase inspection. If everything turns out fine, just refresh all the oils and filters and you're good to go.

Low mileage is always tempting but could lurk some problems behind with it as well. Anyway, I would buy it how problematic can it be at this stage ? However, I would not buy if options and color combo don't meet my expectations

The car looks beautiful though, interior and exterior. Just like new...obviously. It's currently priced a couple thousand above market value.

I think the 2019 S560's come with the M176 motors. If the M176 motor is the same as the M177 then low mileage might not be a great thing. The M177 motor has popped up with some issues around rear main seal leaks due to overpressure in the crankcase. This overpressure is caused presumably by clogged catch can devices that can get clogged up if the car sits a lot and is not driven hard on occasion. The theory is the condensation and oil mix in the catch can passages and eventually clog them which then causes the overpressure. Only fix is to drop the motor out to fix the RMS.

Good morning! My bad! M176. Any engine is prone to oil leaks really. If it has 4 year old oil in it and hasn't been driven that often the seals might've dried out. So i would buy, and change oil very first thing. All the fluids.

OP this one isn’t due for its first oil change by miles. Bet the oil is still Amber in color.
No doubt it has lived all its life in the garage.
Have inspected and enjoy if color combination is good and if it has MBC.
