Probably explains why I have no real perceived difference in ride. And by the way, had 4 people in the vehicle today and absolutely no rubbing. I think that was a concern from another member. Just wanted to make sure they know there should be no concern there. I am at stock ride height and have no intention to lower the vehicle. Loving this car and really happy to be on this forum! Thanks guys!

It really is a special car, enjoy it! I love mine more and more as time goes on, the reverse of any other car I have had
Same here. Felt really bad after selling my first W222… So happy with my current W222 that I never get that feeling after 6-12 months that it’s time to trade in. The car is so good that it keeps it’s elegance and pleasure of ownership for so long. I also think the W222 design is so timeless.. it will really take at least another generation of S-class before this way may feel outdated or and old vehicle. Some of neighbors who don’t know cars much still think it’s a 2023 model year when I got my 2nd W222 this year. I love the W222 so much. I know this vehicle is the true medicine for the yearly trade in I’ve been doing for the past 7-8 years or so.
I am new to the community. I have a S560 RWD, staggered 20" rims front 245/40R20 and rear 275/35R20, I am searching for the winter rims for incoming winter. I found a set of W223, 20". I couldn't find any fitment information between W223 and W222. I am happy you put W223 wheels to W222. Are these perfectly fitting to W222. I think your S450 is same as S560.
I also realized that your new tire size is 255/40R20. Since yours is not AMG wheel, is it ok to use 255 to replace 245 width? Is your new set having same size rear and front? If so, are they fitting well?
It is the first S class I have, I don't have too much knowledge. I had C and E classes before S class. a lot of information I can find for C and E class from the website, not too much about S class. I think I found the right place to know everyone.
First off, beautiful car!
Secondly, that’s not an AMG package.
Thirdly, I have an S560, not an S450.
So, all that being said, the fitment from a W223 to a W222 is seamless. I actually like the fact that the wheels and tires are squared. I can now rotate. There is one thing I may do, and that is to put a 10 or 12 mm spacer on the backs. The fronts fit perfectly, the backs sit a little bit more inboard, which is perfectly normal for OEM. If you have a rear wheel drive, you may want to consider going down to a 19 or 18 inch wheel. That is what I do on all of my vehicles. I always go down at least one size if not two. Again, gorgeous car! Hope I was able to help.

Thanks a lot for the help. It is great that you have same model. I feel more comfortable to buy the new rims. When I search the posts, I found that the new rims with your car look beautiful to me.
Will smaller rims help the handling in the snow? I thought the narrower rims could help in the snow. I tried to understand better to choose the right tires.
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, smaller diameter wheels and narrower will definitely help in the snow. My wife’s Q7 came from the factory with 21” wheels. We go to a 19” in the winter. I am pretty partial to the Bridgestone Blizzaks. They do a great job for us in the winter. I’ll be going back to the 18” wheels the S class came with and mounting Blizzaks on this this winter.

Thanks a lot. I might go with narrower width, The size of rims was my concern since the head could be low to get scratches easier while parking have a nice weekend

I have Blizzaks on my 18 winter wheels and I concur.
Bridgestone Blizzaks is the best winter tire i have been used for many winter seasons. W222 comes with the run flat tires unfortunately, you can change them but you have to have the backup tire too. It means I need to change the setup of storage to have a backup tire. I just stay with run flat with noisy tires. Thanks for all members and helps.
For winter tires set, I have the VREDESTEIN WINTRAC PRO. I am not claiming they are the best or anything, but from experience, they are extremely quite and comfortable, which is what I mostly care about in an S-class. They also perform really great under winter and snow conditions. I’d choose them again.
Ride quality wise, no doubt they are the best and that’s also reported by TireRack pro test results.
As for their performance results, see the TireRack results below yet against one of the 2 best options in the industry.
For winter, I used dedicated all-weather (not all-season) Nokian WRG4 tires that are rated to 60k miles. They handle as well as dedicated snow tires on snow and ice and will not prematurely wear out on warm or hot days like regular snow tires. They are also excellent in the rain and stick well on dry roads. You can leave them on year round or switch them back to summer wheels during the summer. I went with 245/45R19 in a square set-up so I can rotate them since I can get several seasons out of a single set. I used the same rims on my GL550 for winter use when I had that and fortunately these wheels were also the perfect fit and offset for my S550. They are after-market AMG style wheels that I've had since 2017.

Interesting, never heard for Nokian brand. Where are they made? Where do you buy them from? I was not able to find them on TireRack to see their specs and review.
Nokian’s are ranked extremely high when it comes to snow tires. I actually had them on my Tesla last winter. While they did the job, I found them inferior to the Blizzak’s in my wife’s Q7. That being said, 2 completely different vehicles.
Nokian is a Swedish company I believe. You can buy them at Discount tire. A little ironic that they own Tire Rack but you can’t get them there.

I recently found the confusion about tire pressure of S560 W222, the reference on the gap cover shows 35 front / 39 back, while the reference on the door frame show 42 front / 43 back. Is there anyone having same issue? What should I follow? Thanks a lot.
Mine is the exact same way. I ended up just going 35 all the way around. That being said, I have a square set up, so it makes sense.

Tire pressures are key, if you want your S-Class to ride the way it's intended (see instructional graphic below). Despite this clear guidance from Mercedes-Benz, my dealership routinely OVER-inflates my tires during service, which I notice immediately when I start driving away... "Why does my car ride like a buckboard?" So I pull over and usually need to let out between 4-8psi, to get the pressure back where it should be. I assume the tech is consulting the wrong label (door jamb), rather than the label on the fuel filler door.
