I've never had a car delivered to me, but have tipped tow truck drivers

Wonder why some folks feel the car salesmen make out with tons of money for car sales? Any data out there on how much they make?

It depends on the dealer and geographical location as well as many other factors. I know one relative who works in the business, their income is generally too low for young sales people (60K or so), but can go higher but still within 5 digits up to 100K on average for those with a few years of experience at luxury BMW and Mbenz dealers. Some sales people make higher than that closer to a good 150K with commission in areas where they can sell a ton of cars. For those who works outside Mbens, BMW, etc dears, they can make even more at exotic car dealers. It’s hard to tell, but depending on the location and seniority of the salesman, you can make an estimate.

Regardless of how much money they make, they just aren’t a line of work where customers are expected to tip them. You CAN tip everybody you interact with if you want to I suppose…

Wait what? Never heard of it.

I'm the one who should be getting a tip after buying an expensive car.

In normal circumstances, this would be through something like some insignificant merch (such as a t-shirt, key chain, flowers for the wife, whatever it may be)

No need for a cash tip. Other gifts would make sense if you had a great experience.

Salespeople are comped nicely on their ability to sell. The better they do, the more commission they make, and better jobs are offered based on previous success.

High-end car sales can be very lucrative!

Never seen that in the industry and never done it (at least in my area). So, that makes me wonder; how common is that? Is’t a regional thing, cause am traveling now.
The only "TIP" you should give the salesman is to tell him to give you a bigger discount.

Totally, a gift and a tip are totally different.

High end car sales can be lucrative, but not really at this level. It depends on what you mean by lucrative. If you are a great salesperson you can do way better than selling cars.
