There are two things I want to always have control on my car, even if everything else fails and that's steering and braking. If for any reason my electronics were to die, I know that on my car I'll be able to steer away from danger (or not put myself in the oncoming lane) and brake to a stop, and that's a failsafe I'm not willing to give up.

As for the yoke part, I'm not finding it attractive, I like the "round" wheels where I can grab no matter the position of the wheel and not have a place where the wheel's missing. I'm aware that with a variable ratio of wheel to wheel turn angle, it might not be necessary to turn the wheel more than 120° either side but I don't feel it necessary or even natural.
Can't believe we have to learn how to drive again with this yoke steering wheel, it is such an unnecessary change that adds nothing to the functionality of the steering wheel. Imagine having to be taught in driving school how to drive with this yoke, this trend/fad really needs to die off.

its easier to whip the car into a slide. one handed quick turns are easier than a round wheel. other than that its just for show

So does it require the driver to relearn how to steer again?

No, its just a steering wheel with no top or bottom.

Cars with steer by wire variable ratio steering feel very natural too.

I've driven with a yoke steering wheel for decades. Of course though that was in airplanes...

I have piloted with yoke as well... I didn't like it. I'm still curious about the car version though.

have you guys ever driven a car with a suicide knob? its like that lmao
realistically if you drive the car for like an hour around town youll get used to it really quickly and at that point its like driving with a regular wheel.

Lol... ahhh yes....But it is still a wheel... just with a specific grip position... still a complete circular motion if you hand keep the suicide grip.... In the case of a suicide, a little hand slippage helps..lol..

I see then it wouldn't take long to learn and get used to just like the new infotainment features of a car, or brand specific OS, like MBUX as an example.
