W222 Replace Armrest

Hi,
does anyone know if it is possible to replace the driver door armrest on a W222. I searched the part and it is affordable but I cannot think of a way to remove and install it.
Is it even possible to change it or do you need to buy the whole doorcard?

I would be really thankful for instructions.

Thank you in advance.

It can be done, but a bit of an adventure. Mercedes door cards are built up in multiple layers using plastic posts that go through the next layer and are then melted to hold the layers together. Basically, you can cut the tops off the posts to get the layers apart, then drill small holes into each post and re-attach them with small screws and washers.

I don't know which level of the panel has the armrest, but might as well assume it's the lowest level and would require disassembling the entire panel.

I did this on each door of my C350 sedan and it was a bit of a project but allowed me to upgrade the center section to a leather insert and thus upgrade my doors.
