Fuel Filter Replacement

Hi All
I am considering replacing the fuel filter on my ‘15 S550, 68K miles. . Looks to be a straightforward in and out procedure. Nothing in the CarFax service history mentions the fuel filter having been replaced. The car runs fine..this would be purely proactive and prevenative .
Am I looking too hard for something to do? Should I leave well enough alone?
This may be one of those times that I need someone to protect me from myself!
Thanks
Chuck

If it were me, I wouldn't give it a second thought. And since your car has otherwise been meticiously maintained there's no reasont to go looking for problems where none exist.

Thank you Carlos…I respect your voice of reason. My voice of reason says the same thing! However, listening to voices of reason, especially mine, is not a strong point!
will put it onto the back burner in my head.

From my understanding, the fuel filter itself isn't a serviceable part, the filter is apart of the pump assembly. If you figure out how to service just the filter, please let us all know.

Confirm the model & Diesel/Gasoline before proceeding. Let us know if you identify any part number/aftermarket options for the filter.

I thought the same; it all goes together as one unit in the fuel tank.

Yes all one unit under the right rear passenger's seat cushion.I replaced mine right after purchasing my W222 because it is good preventative maintenance for something that can leave you stranded.

Perhaps the videos on YouTube replacing the fuel filter element from underneath the car were for diesel cars..
Thanks to everyone for pitching in with insight and advice

False alarm…The YouTube videos I referenced for fuel filter replacement were for DIESEL cars. As many have posted, the gasoline fuel filter is integral to the fuel pump located under the rear seat. One member posted that he replaced the pump/filter as a proactive/ preventative measure.
I’ll let it ride and as Carlos Seattle suggests…not give it a second thought.
thanks all
Chuck
