2018 S560 auto wiindow opening with fob not working

It's my understanding from searching that we're supposed to be able all door windows remotely using the key fob by holding down the unlock button.
Cannot make it work with either fob - batteries good, all other fob functions work.
KICKER - using the fob opens the sunroof panels! But, not the windows.
Ideas or suggestions?

I looked in the manual, see below, but it really is of no use!
The only suggestion is that the batteries in your key fob need replacing. But the fact that the sunroof opens Are the rear windows locked out?Convenience opening (ventilating the vehicle before starting a journey)

Press and hold the Unlock button on the SmartKey.

The following functions are performed:
  • The vehicle is unlocked.
  • The side windows are opened.
  • The panoramic sliding sunroof is opened.
  • The seat ventilation of the driver's seat is switched on.
If the roller sunblinds of the panoramic sliding sunroof are closed, the roller sunblinds are opened first.

If the roller sunblinds of the rear doors are closed, the roller sunblinds are opened first.
  • To interrupt convenience opening: release the Unlock button.
  • To continue convenience opening: press and hold the Unlock button again.

Problem
The side windows cannot be opened or closed using the convenience opening feature.

Possible causes/consequences and Solutions
  • The SmartKey battery is discharged or nearly discharged.
  • Check the battery using the battery check lamp and replace if necessary

Getting a red light on fob
Back window lock button not activated.
Only fob function not working so far as I can tell is it won't open windows.
Will phone dealer service - recently had 30,000 mile service, included a new fob battery

I WAS having problems with this for a while. I found out, with my car, the roof panel (shade part inside) was opening, and when the shade part was fully open, then I pressed the open part of the key once more and all the windows would open.

Major rule for solving problems - install new batteries.

My fob was doing everything except lowering windows.
Finally put new ones in - BINGO!
