I just purchased a 2018 S560 and I'm slowly coming to the realization that the rear seats cannot be folded down for access to the trunk. Is this true? If so, are any of the seats within this model foldable? I attempted to search the threads for similar concern but with negative results.

 

The rear executive seating package has a center console that can be modified with a ski hatch opening if you need to haul something longer like Skis or a 2X4. I picked up a used new set of MB OEM roof racks and a nice Thule basket for my car for when I need to haul stuff. Works great. I think you can do the ski pass through with the standard rear seat as well if I am not mistaken.

 

I have the same MY and there is no access from the rear seat.

 

Agree, fold down rear seats would be nice to have but with all the electronic and pneumatic stuff in there might have been considered too costly. In our demographic they might have assumed we'd use one of our other vehicles to carry large objects ...

 

There are a lot of stuff behind the seats. When I changed the battery I took out the panel behind the seats. Lots of electronics there.
