Is this stuff pretty good? Knowing costco it's probably mobil 1 rebadged. I've been wanting to try it but just wasn't brave enough.

Curious why, especially if you change oil every 5K or Twice a year. Thats a tramendous savings for DIY. Spec on carton.

Which specs are listed? Please post a photo of the bottle/jug with the spec callouts.

Actually, you may be correct. I picked up for Transit, Jeep and XT4. They all use 0W-20 or 5W-20. I picked up 8 Cases, mor than enough for a Year for all three Vehicles. I change Oil every 5K. Also makes it easy for the wife to remember when to change the oil. 25k, 30K 35K... etc.

Walmart has the best pricing that I could find for Mobile 1 Full Syn 0W and 5W 40 and FREE Delivery to your door
Mobil 1 FS European Car Formula Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-40, 12 qt Bag in Box - Walmart.com

Mobil 1 FS European Car Formula Full Synthetic Motor Oil 0W-40, 5 qt - Walmart.com

Here is more infor should you own vehicles that use other specs than 0W-40, unless they start carrying it.

WARREN OIL COMPANY, LLC holds the distinction of having the largest number of American Petroleum Institute engine oil licenses and certifications. Warren manufactures and packages lubricants under several proprietary registered trademarks; e.g., Warren, Lubriguard, Autoguard, Itasca, Coastal, LubriGold and Saxon.

Where does Costco get their synthetic oil?
Warren Distribution Inc. is the one who manufactures Kirkland Signature Synthetic Motor Oil and is solely distributed by Costco. Hence, it is sometimes called Costco motor oil. Founded by James Schlott, Warren Distribution Inc used to be Warren Oil Company and has been around since 1922.Aug 1, 2023

How many miles is Kirkland synthetic oil good for?
Kirkland and Supertech are made by a company called Warren. You can look this up and verify over the internet. By Blackstone Labs testing they are both rated for approximately 7500 miles in most cases.

I picked up some 0w40 Walmart yesterday. They also had 5W40. I did buy the 12 qt bag once, not again.
I like putting the old oil back into the containers to take to the auto parts shops. The bag didn't work well for that.

If I remember it had a little twist spout at the bottom, so no way to get the oil back in.

Because I enjoy maintaining my cars with excellent parts and fluids. Oil is cheap, I just buy whatever oil I feel is best and give zero thought to the cost. Same with brakes, fuel, detailing supplies, whatever.

If I was worried about cost this is the last car I would be driving.

Plus, I hate Costco with a burning passion and would rather have a colonoscopy than set foot in one lol

Inexpensive oil is not in my vocabulary... everyone is welcome to their own vehicle care practice

I tried liqui moly new generation 5w-40 in my W222 and the engine is smoother and more quiet than it has been in several years. Also the cam adjuster very very light rattle dissappears in about a second now.. was about 2 seconds..

Ironically i used a NON Mobil 1 oil for the first time since 1990-ish and the liqui moly is amazing.
the change from michelin for the first time in over 20 years also brought joy in bridgestone quiettracks ( my run flat changeout)
Maybe i need to try more new things... but i wont share this thought with my sweetie

What weight oil were you using before? 0w-40 Mobil 1?
The reason I asked is that for my w212 m278 engine, I went with Genuine mercedes oil (sourced from FCP Euro) once and then a rattle could be heard every now and then when starting the engine. Switched back to 0w-40 Mobil 1 and the rattle went away.

This is interesting as the "w" number is only relevant to viscosity and cold temps, as in winter (which is not relevant for my geographics) and the 40 number viscosity should be identical at cold (ambient) temperature start with a slight difference viscosity on the very hot end of the viscosity range.
now,
The perceived 40 weight "indentical" at ambient cold start could be minutely different across brands so i am tempted to give the 0w a shot .... eventhough i have no cold winter weather
