Best source for genuine MB parts at a discount?
I’m looking to buy a new set of TPMS valve/sensors. I know there are excellent OEM replacements out there, but I want genuine MB units. Anyone know what dealer out there might be offering decent discounts and taking online orders? Or, any other suppliers? Thanks!

I’ve used these folks. MB of Devon. Save on some parts/supplies, not much on others.

A questioning opinion only - why would a dealer who has invested in an inventory of parts choose to cut his return on his investment? I find it hard to accept that it would be a case of making up a loss of return by increasing volume, but, then, I've never been a dealer.

As someone who made a career out of buying products and selling them, it makes all the sense in the world—especially in the internet age. If you can make a sale and make a profit, using nothing but your existing infrastructure & workforce, why not? That said, you need to keep an eye on your bottom line, but a small profit, in most cases, is better than no profit at all. In the case of MB dealers, they can sell only locally at the basic retail, “over the counter” prices and then at a discount to repair shops, garages, etc., which is fine. But, if they develop a website and with a bit of competitiveness, sell the same products nationwide or worldwide, then that can add significantly to the dealership’s income and growth.

There are dealers that will sell parts mail order at lower prices than they sell to the over counter, for most dealers they are selling most of their parts to customers that walk into into the parts department, so doing a discount on mail order gives them business they would not ever have. I had an Infiniti and bought lots of accessories and things like oil filters at good discount.

I get most of my parts here unless I find a better price at that time somewhere else but usually this site has the best price. Be sure to look at shipping charges. That's where the big differences come in. The part may be cheap somewhere but they make up for it in extreme shipping charges.

Agreed; and I have seen that strategy with one of the BMW dealers. He has one of the most widely used and known ebay store!!... Yes, a BMW dealer with an ebay store. You order the part, fluid, or whatever, and it ships faster than calling their parts department!. And, they sell parts on the ebay store at a cheaper price than what they'd charge you if you stop by.

Agree with the comments above. I try to support my local Porsche dealers (they don't need my support), but over the counter parts prices are 2x what I can pay online, delivered to my front door. Scummy business model. There are usually no consumers at the parts counter or service writeup lane. Prices for parts and service are so high for walk-in customers that they are not busy, and making money. From their point of view, they are in a good place.

Unexpected COSTCO problem
I replaced my OEM Pirelli run flats with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4's at COSTCO yesterday. I had pre-purchased a set of TPMS Mercedes-Benz Sensor Kit 000-905-85-04. I was stunned when COSTCO refused to replace any of my old TPMS sensors with the new sensors I had brought with me. They told me COSTCO policy prevented them from installing ANY parts not purchased from COSTCO.
COSTCO then informed me their normal 20,000 mile warranty would be cut to 10,000 miles because I had 2 different size tires on the front and rear of the car. These new tires are the exact same size as the tires that the car was delivered with 245/45ZR19 & 275/40ZR19.
So I did get a great price of $1,341.84 for the tires including mounting, balancing, and sales tax. The ride home, after the installation, was amazingly better. Love the new Michelins but am not pleased that the new TPMS were not installed. I was able to return the sensors to MB of Warwick for the $179.36 I had paid for the kit.
Live and learn.

Good to know about Costco policy I know they refuse to install tires that are not the stock size from their book. Question did you want to replace the sensors just because you were in there or did you think they were bad? If you car is garaged they should last a long time, my 05' Nissan is still stock and parked outside and work fine still.

that is typical for tire warranties based on mileage and having different size tires front/rear since they cannot be rotated.
Tire manufacturers have it in the fine print as well... check your tire manufacturers warranty web page to confirm.
